Uninstalled and reinstalled Realplayer - it still plays in black and white. Any ideas?

I tried updating with the WIndows Media PLayer 9 codec pack and DivX 5.2.1 codec but still get the black and white playback in WMP and Rplayer. Any suggestions on exactly how to resolve this issue, and how to pinpoint and remove the offending codec, would be appreciated.

I tried a different player, called Zoom player. In Zplayer videos play fine and in full colour which means the problem is only restricted to Win Media Player and Realplayer. I'll try your ideas a little later tonight, thanks. It does sound likely to be a codec issue.

I've succesfully solved the problem by disassociating Kazaa with the desktop shared folder and redirecting it to the original shared folder which was on a seperate dedicated partition. It seems that having a shared folder on the desktop is unwise because of the amount of data that has to be run...

The problem has been solved. I downloaded a download manager through an ftp client, then downloaded IE SP2 from MS site, installed and it fixed the problem. Now pictures and downloads are working 100%. Thanks a lot to everyone who took the time out to reply.
