Change in scroll behaviour after IE6 update

Thanks, bcastner. I did not know DSLR stood for dslreports. I had in fact consulted that site when I was originally deciding on which DSL ISP to choose. I should visit it again. The rest of my previous message directed at euston. I did understand what you had said about Jerry Bryant and...

Change in scroll behaviour after IE6 update

Thanks, bcastner. But what is DSLR? Relative scroll bar positioning by itself might indeed be a good thing - if the scroll bar represented the whole page. Say you have a page that is seven screenfuls long, like this page, and the slider is at the top. Then if you click the scrollbar very...

Change in scroll behaviour after IE6 update

bcastner, I did a search for MSHTML.DLL. I have three of them. One of them is the "good" one, according to your link, in: C:\WINDOWS\system32 and two are the "bad" one in: C:\WINDOWS\$NtServicePackUninstall$ C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386 Any idea what I...

Change in scroll behaviour after IE6 update

It must be a bug because when you click anywhere on the scrollbar - on the slider or above/below it you lose your current focus on the page itself. That did not happen before. It is most inconvenient and I cannot imagine why that would be a deliberate change. Also, if it was an intentional...

Change in scroll behaviour after IE6 update

Removing MS03-048 Q824145 would also remove its IE security patch. I can live with it until MS corrects it - I expect soon. I feel sure that they are aware of this problem - and are embarassed by it. Gunny

Always select the last 10 rows in excel

Right Ken. I tried to post a follow-up to that effect but the website went off. But there would be a similar problem with blank cells in your formula. The offset of -10 could land you in a blank cell. COUNTBLANK would not really solve this problem. I guess either way you need to stipulate...

Always select the last 10 rows in excel

How about: =OFFSET(Sheet1!A1,COUNTA(A:A)-10,,10,4) It does the same thing as Ken's formula but is (1) simpler and (2) not limited to a pre-specified number of rows. Am I wrong? Gunny

    Date Function Related

Shouldn't that have been: Dim t As Date t = Date() or was it just a typo on your part? Gunny

Avoid duplicates in a non-indexed field

I would agree with Jim but recommend you give each organzation name (a large text field) a code, e.g. Autonum, and put that in the original table. It would save you space and probably speed up processing - but would make your programming a little more complex. Gunny

Always select the last 10 rows in excel

I haven't done this in VBA but I have done something similar using =COUNTA(F:F). This would go in cell E1 say. You can adapt this to your circumstances. HTH Gunny

    Database Efficiency

Even with normalization you can still end up with large records. Theoretically all 1-to-1 data should be in the same record. But, for example, people living in the same building will have the same street address. So instead of putting the street address in each person's record you would be...

    Windows XP Pro boot problem

I had this problem with Add/Remove Programs being empty. ASR Restore would not work for me - it looked at the ASR diskette but did not "recognise" it. So I did a Windows Backup of the full C: drive. With Volume Shadow Copy enabled it backed up all files including those that were...

    IE6 - runtime errors

I absolutely agree. A firewall, an antivirus, and a system restore facility that are active at all times, particularly when online, are a must. If you have had this problem less than 2 months then I don't think reconfiguring ZA will help because the problem is most probably not there. It is...
