    Trying to install IE6 on w98 instal

    It seems that solution is for NT, 98, or 95. I have 2000. I gave it a try anyway, replacing both the cabinet.dll files with the NT one from the IE60 installation. After a reboot, I attempted to install IE 6.0, same result. I restored the Win 2000 cabinet.dll files that I had previously.

    Interesting, I'm having the same problem, or at least identical symptoms, on Win 2000. I have IE version 5.00.3105.0106CO. I believe that is considered version 5.5. After I accept the EULA, it says "Initializing Setup. Please wait...", then a pop-up box appears with the message...
