Need help with Mac Filtering on a 2950

We have a Cisco WS-C2950-1z running version 12.1(19)EA1c. We are having trouble figuring out how to setup this switch for Mac filtering. There are three workstations connected to it, and one crossover cable to another switch. We'd like to turn off all unused ports and set Mac filtering on the...

Need help with routing through vpn

Sounds like that could be the problem. Does that mean that I have to put a static entry in each router along the way? I thought this happens dynamically?

Should I open port 50 on my sonicwall??

We have two groups of people setting up an SA to our sonicwall. One has been successful without changing any access rules in the sonciwall. The other could not create a vpn tunnel without creating an access rule that looks like this: IPSEC (ESP) [0,50] Source (the remote ip address of the...

What's listening on my port 443???

I am able to ftp into port 443 from the outside. I shouldn't be able to should I? Then I turned off the Web Publishing service and can still ftp into it? Sounds suspicious, doesn't it? Any ideas how I can find out what application would be using or listening into port 443? Thanks in advance...

Wierdest problem when cutting and pasting

We scanned the PC with Spybot and Adaware and cleaned it up. There was only about 15 objects infected. Once removed, it didn't fix the problem. Any other ideas? Google searching came up with nothing related to the problem.

Wierdest problem when cutting and pasting

I've got a really weird problem for you. About a few months ago I lost the ability to cut and paste text other objects properly. This is really frustrating as I use this all the time. What's happening is that I seem to be able to cut or copy ok, but when I go to paste the text or object I get...

Why is yahoo mail and IE not getting along???

Yes, we are using a sonicwall Soho3. We are allowing access of all ports out of the firewall to the internet and denying all ports, except for PCanywhere (port forwarding)from the outside into the LAN.

Why is yahoo mail and IE not getting along???

We have a few Win2k and win98 PC's, all with IE 6.0 SP1 that are experiencing this problem: When we login to yahoo mail and press "compose", it just hangs....pressing reload a few times may bring up the new mail screen, but usually it just hangs until I force the browser closed. Also, if I'm...

fonts are different in all documents

We changed our PC from a Win98 operating system to WinXP. We reloaded Corel WP Office Suite 2000 on the new machine and tried to open our documents. Each document is formatted with different fonts. Can anyone tell me why this might be happening? What can I do to get our old formatting back...

How do I change the password?

I feel very stupid for asking this. I just "inherited" a cisco 3500 switch and a 2600 router. I can access each through a browser, but can't change the passwords in them. I know nothing about Cisco equipment and am accustomed to dealing with Sonicwall and 3com. I realize this is a...

Cannot ping other side of win2k server network

It says "hardware error" instead of replying to my ping request. I've seen destination host unreachable errors, but never one that says hardware error. What would be the "route add" commands that I might have to add to the server to let traffic from each subnet pass...

    MSOffice XP help needed

We have about 30 PC's that we'd like to install MSOFfice XP. We have 30 OEM copies of OfficeXP, unfortunately. I wish we had a corporate license for them. We'd like to use sysprep and ghost to clone the OS and some applications so that they are already installed. All the user should have to do...
