MarkieEll,
A few things:
Is this a Citrix box, or just NT40TS?
Which deskjet are you trying to install on NT40TS?
Have you tried installing the deskjet500 or 800 driver?
(BTW, you shouldn't have any problems with newer printers)
And lastly, I am only familiar with Citrix 1.8 on a NT40TS...
I have 1x.001, and 4x.000 under \Wtsrv\Profiles... as I understand, those are "new" profiles Citrix creates if it doesn't like the "old" one for whatever reason. What should I do with them? All are duplicates of other profiles except one.
Also, do you know if this has...
I have a Compaq Proliant PL800 running NT-TS4(build419)sp6 Metaframe 1.8 Build 663sp3 with 1GB RAM and 2x9GB HD's (Mirrored) partitioned @ 2GB/7GB.
I'm trying to figure out why my system drive (C:=M:) is filling up. Part of my confusion comes from the fact I can only account for 1.4GB of...
Hi Jewel,
No Idea which port to use, but here's a couple of things I learned with our SonicWall Pro 1000:
1) As soon as you can, export your settings, in case it dumps them again. And export again after any changes you make.
2) One of ours was periodically shutting down. It turned out...
If you're using MS networking products, (NT/2000), may I also suggest using the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer. It is not perfect, but it will give you good starting point to determine the basic status of your systems... the condition of hotfixes, IIS/SQL/IE holes, password issues, reg...
Hey Beagle...
Shot in the dark, but this could also be contributing to the problem...
Microsoft pulls security patch that crashes NT 4.0

The patch, released on Dec. 11, 2002, is to fix a privilege elevation vulnerability deemed...
MarkiEll,
I would suggest using the generic driver as a last resort when installing new printers. Most drivers should work with TS/Citrix setups, but some lower end units were not designed to be used in a network configuration. They are best suited for direct connect (LPT1) as a local...
Beagle,
I'll do some checking about any services that might be causing that. Though, just to let you know, when we were having the problem, almost everyone said they were exitng the programs properly. I decided to make it a focus for about a month, to the point it became a bit of a running...
short of identifying a specific conflict between client/server os, I suggest setting your lockout to 5 bad attempts. Anyone can mess up a good password 3 times without realizing their caplock is on, or their hands are out of position. The point of having the lockout turned on is to stop...
this may sound stupid, but are they trying to change the password on the network's domain, or the computer's domain? (This Computer) And have they tried it via teh Control Panel?
Curious,
Thadd
This sounds similar to a problem we have with a software suite we use called Marketron2000. What we learned is that if the user exits the program using the "X" in the upper right hand corner, it may not actually disconnect from the network. To eliminate the hassles of daily manual...
it sounds like it may depend on the particular printer driver you are using. I have a 930 installed on our NT40TS/Citrix box that works... it's only for my office though... LTP1, and LPT1 is being shared by a few other printers on Citrix as well. (Don't know how that figures in)
Have you...
