Thanks JVZ. setLevel() sets the sensitivity by which the logger logs information to the log file. What I was looking for is how to control the log *printout* to standard terminal. I just found how to do that using LogManager.

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to find a way to control the printout to standard terminal every time I call the logger to log messages. I don't want the logger to print everything I log out to the terminal. My typical call is:
logger.log( Level.INFO, "Messages" );
I don't see any...
I've developed programs that successfully used RMI locally, all files (client & server) reside in one directory. To run this program separated between 2 machines requires the stub definitions to be placed in the web server directory.
How does a client access those files to obtain the...
This is the message I received:

Hello. I'm using the latest mySQL on Windows 2000. I would like to know how to change the way the server accepts connection from "named pipe" to TCP/IP method. I've searched around everywhere could could not find a way to change this. Thanks for your help.
Hello. I'm trying to connect to mysql server using JDBC, but it kept rejecting the connection stating that either mysql server is not running or I'm not connected to the correct port. However, I verified both to be correct. I'm working on Windows2000 platform. I may have located the problem...
I know the way I wanted to implement state is not a good way, but I'm still curious as to how to implement:
independent threads interacting with each others
For example, I would like to create 3 pins in a pin-ball machine that dynamically interacts with each others. I would run those 3...
I'm creating a state machine that depends on a GUI event to change from one state to the next. For example,

Jeffey,
I realized this when I visited their websites. BUT, in essence, these companies are holding your computer hostage by requiring you to visit them every month to obtain a "pass" that blocks out their advertisements. I visited X10 website regarding this problem and their FAQ...

Thanks rinnis and RaTTuS. I found that there are many entries refering the the application I mentioned in the registry. The one that mattered the most in my case is located in:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->Software->Microsoft->Windows->CurrentVersion->Uninstall->ApplName
Removing that solved my problem.
Some of these programs are so old that I couldn't find it anywhere else. I also removed all reference to these applications in the registry, but that didn't help either. Is there any other way?
I've been installing many programs on my Win98 system since I got it a few years ago. Now every time I point to the desktop and did a
rightClick->New
about 40 suggested applications appears. How do I edit this list? I couldn't find it anywhere in C:\Windows.
thanks!
Hello. I've been having a problem of removing application listing under ControlPanel->Add/Remove_Programs. I made a mistake of removing the program directory without uninstall using Windows' Add/Remove_Program method. Now when I try to uninstall those programs, it prompted "no program to...
