    Utility to count restarts

I tested it and it worked great on a single workstation to a shared network drive. The management team scrapped the idea they had that required this, however, so I didn't end up deploying it... but thanks for the helpful tips :)

    Utility to count restarts

hrmm.. I don't have QBasic loaded on the PCs (it's for an entire call center that I support) - they do all have access to a shared drive, though, from which I run batch files, etc, on all affected systems -- I could push QBasic to the workstations (no install is necessary, just needs qbasic.exe...

    Utility to count restarts

That would work -- looking for something I can report off of in a network environment, though.. I appreciate it .. I'll use that but I'll try to find something that provides reporting options too :) Thanks... John

    Utility to count restarts

Does anyone out there know of a good utility to put on a Windows 98 machine that will keep a counter for how many times the machine has been restarted? Preferably it would be a utility that could generate a report (or that I could grab a report from accross the network)... Any help would be...

    Excel 2003 Subototals

Also, he points out that it seems to display the subtotals correctly until around the 700th row... (he hadn't mentioned this to me before)

    Excel 2003 Subototals

Apparently, once he applies a fourth subtotal (and any subsequent subtotals) the subtotals do not calculate properly. The totals all get shifted to the right and lose alignment, resulting in the subtotals not wrapping correctly.

    Excel 2003 Subototals

I've upgraded one of my people to Office 2003 as my test case - so far everything is great with the exception of subtotals...after four or more subtotals deep the calculations do not occur correctly... the same exact file can be saved, then subtotals can be calculated in Office XP with no issue...

Inaccessible folder that is available when moving messages...

Product: Outlook XP OS: Windows 2000 I'm having an odd issue with one of my folks I support - when they open the Move to Folder dialogue one of their folders is available (presumably due to having moved a message there before). However, the folder does not show up anywhere in any of their...

Odd Excel XP issue - Fill colors changing to pattern

I have an odd issue being reported by several of my folks with Excel. They fill columns with common colors for whatever reason... upon attaching the file to Outlook both the attached file and the source file are changed. The filled colors convert to a black background pattern, typically the...

MS Access XP Pivot Tables - Form is blank, tools are greyed out, etc

The database is not protected - on the affected workstations the symptoms are experienced even if a new pivot table is created in a new database created from scratch. We've found the source of the problem to be possible issues with the registration of the web components, but some folks could use...

MS Access XP Pivot Tables - Form is blank, tools are greyed out, etc

I have several workstations exhibiting the following behavior when attempting to create new pivot tables in Microsoft Access XP: - The form created by the wizard is blank without any drop fields available - All pivot table tools are greyed out When opening existing pivot tables, the form is...

Pivot Table design grid does not open

Did you ever get a solution for this issue? I am having the exact same problem with many of the users I support and am unable to find a fix - I did find through a lot of fruitless searching that this is a very common problem experienced by hundreds of people, but... Anyway, any input would be...

    Ending processes from DOS

Is there a command in the W98 DOS environment similar to the "kill" command in NT/W2K to end a running process? I've got a few hundred workstations with different user groups on them and I use a small program to keep the more restricted users from opening Explorer, etc - unfortunately...

    Batch File Problems

What OS are you working in? I'm assuming W98/95 since you referred to the Windows directory rather than winnt - you can use the deltree command coupled with the "/Y" switch to remove these directories, i.e. --> deltree /y c:\windows\favori~1 Hope this is some help...

    History of Connections to Workstation

Unfortunately statistics is not one of the options available in the W98 net command. The closest thing it has is net diagnostics, but this provides very little information and does not include what I'd like to see...

    History of Connections to Workstation

Does anyone know where to find a history of connections to a Windows 98 workstation? The arp table refreshes too quickly to show anything other than fairly current connections, but Windows 98 will show that someone was connected to a system several hours later. Is this just a ticker that...
