Wireless bridging between two access points

The solutions so far will cost more than the price of one good access point.

WEP - Optional Encryption don't work for non-Cisco client devices

To set up repeaters, you must enable Aironet extensions on both the parent (root) access point and the repeater access points. Aironet extensions, which are enabled by default, improve the access point's ability to understand the capabilities of Cisco Aironet client devices associated with the...

WEP - Optional Encryption don't work for non-Cisco client devices

I have had really bad experience getting non Cisco client devices to talk to Cisco repeaters. They would work for a while and then disassociate and reassociate frequently. Cisco admit that this is a problem. Funny though, the early models of Aironet for example 340 series did not have this problem.

Wireless bridging between two access points

The main reason why you are having problems getting to the 10 location has to do with the equipment that you are using. I am amused when I read about difficulties with cheap under rated wireless devices. Most of these devices are giving Ethernet wireless a bad name. Some people do not spend...

Wireless bridging between two access points

If jpeg is simply trying to share an Internet connection between 50 sites, then shared Ethernet wireless can do it. However if jpeg is trying to create a fast Ethernet wireless LAN, then 802.11b is not the solution. jpeg can mount a omnidirectional antenna with a root access point on the tall...

    Cisco 350 AP

Radio Hold off occurs only when an interfering frequency enters your RF cell. Time is irrelevant. You can go to the Carrier Test and move to a channel with less interference. The carrier test can be found in Network Diagnostics.

    Only Wireless, No Wires

Newisp has given a correct prognosis for 802.11b contemporary devices. My suggestion is based on a new paradigm for 802.11b. It is WiFi switching. Vivato is the first 802.11b switch on the market. It changes the landscape on how we view WiFi site surveys. One Vivato indoor switch will cover...

WEP - Optional Encryption don't work for non-Cisco client devices

Your problem has to do with non Cisco devices talking to Cisco repeaters. A.K.Pollard www.tribecaexpress.com

Wireless bridging between two access points

Sure. You can use an access point in repeater mode. Cisco Access Points handles this very well, but this setup will work really good only with Cisco devices. A.K.Pollard www.tribecaexpress.com

    Cisco 350 AP

You appear to be having radio holdoff. This mean that you need to check your radio frequencies and ensure clear separation of channels. A.K.Pollard www.tribecaexpress.com

    Only Wireless, No Wires

I can offer you a solution but not at 5 GHz. I will ensure that there is no interference at 2.4GHz using a Vivato indoor WiFi switch. I can show you a demo if you are available to come to NYC. Check out my site at www.tribecaexperss.com

I have a Siemens Hicom 150 PBX talking to a 5ESS switch. I cannot find a way to configure the PBX so I can display Called and Calling numbers. Can anyone help me define type of number and numbering plan in the Hicom 150 PBX?

    Bridged Wireless Approx. 1400 ft.

Your friend can use a Cisco AP350 with an 3 dBi patch antenna attached to the window of the house with the satelite connection. At the other house use a Cisco WGB350, if more than one PC will be connected, or a Cisco PC350 card, if only one workstation. A 3 dBi patch antenna attached on a window...

recommendations for a wireless networking solution???

Proxim Harmony and Cisco AP1220 have good 802.11a products at 54Mbps. My understanding is that you have 16 laptops. You can put 16 access points in the lecture room. 8 units on one SSID and the other 8 on another SSID. Each of the 8 units on a particular SSID will be on a non overlapping...

Cisco 350 Access Point Repeater issue

Why do you want to change it? There MUST be association between the repeater and root. The reason for turning Broadcast off is to allow the root to only talk to clients with similar SSID and not with those that have default or no SSIDs. Yes, your repeater will continue to associate with the...
