Hello,

I have a access point set as a repeater for extended coverage of the root access point that is also a Cisco 350 access point. My issue is that the repeater keeps re-associating and disassociating every 5 to 10 minutes to the root AP device. What could be causing that message in the log?

Thanks!

When I turned off the Broadcast, it is still able to associate to the repeater access point. How can I change it?

Thanks!

Why do you want to change it? There MUST be association between the repeater and root. The reason for turning Broadcast off is to allow the root to only talk to clients with similar SSID and not with those that have default or no SSIDs.

Yes, your repeater will continue to associate with the root when you turn Broadcast SSID off, but it should be more steady and stop the problem of associating and disassociating every five minutes.

Also, you can create an even more stable environment for the root/repeater relationship by turning on WEP on both devices. However, you must remember to turn WEP on for the PC cards as well, so your computer can be part of the WLAN.

Let me know if your situation improve.
