    Smartcard authentication to SSH

Does anyone know of a PAM module that can be utilitzed to read the pki keys from a smart card and validate the session with a PKI server? Have an existing infrastructure for PKI and would like to utilize it to secure SSH/X-Term sessions with AIX. Would like to try to find a way to use in...

    Lotus Notes Connector Issue

Are you speaking of the Microsoft Exchange Connector for Lotus Notes (Server end to connect Exchange and Domino) or the Lotus Notes Mail service for Microsoft Outlook? If it is the server connector, you need to set the properties on the general tab to Convert Notes DocLinks to: URL Shortcut If...

Out of Office - version 5.0.x

If you are on version 5.x, your users have to be designers of their db's to be able to run th out of office agent. In 6 they only have to be editors. Also, be aware in r5.x this agent does not activate until after midnight once set. It schedules more frequently in R6. They only need to be able...

Windows 2000 Server Migration - ARGH!!!!

What version of Domino are you running? If you are running anything below 5.0.8a, you will pretty much have bad and slow results. As far as your migration technique goes... that is how I have always done it. Remember too, if you migrate your sever all the way up to 5.0.12 or 6.x, you will...

    Notes not displaying web images

Just curious.... Is the old exchange server still running and if so... Are you using the Outlook Connector for Lotus Notes to transfer mail to the Domino server? If so, what version of Exchange did you migrate from? 5.5? Leo

    Office 2000 SendTo

Exchange 2000 recommendations (for a newbie!)

Install Domino instead of Exchange and you won't have to sweat about any of these issues. It won't screw up the AD and yes, you can sync it to the AD. It is easy to set up and administer and with that size of a box, can easily run that number of users without headaches.

DECS problem when upgrading to R6.0.1

I'm not a big DECS person, so I can't help alot there. What I can tell you is that the ODS of the server has nothing to do with the ODS for the client. You can compact them to convert them to an R6 ODS and, re-compact them back to R5 ODS if this causes problems. The ODS only relates to how...

    Electronic faxing

YES. Omnifax Sucks. If that is what you are considering, look for another product. Their documentation is marginal, their support is worse. I used to get a kick out of calling their 800 number and getting placed on hold for an hour at their expense waiting for tech support. If you are stuck...

newbie: best hdd configuration for domino 5

Best practice at a minimum: OS/swap on 1 set, Data on another set Transaction Log on another set. Unless you have one of the superfast controllers for RAID 5, RAID 0+1 is always best for any database. Not so much for normal operating, but you will see a huge performance drop should one of the...

    Corrupted View?

To start with, you need to discard your current views and start over again. Load updall -V -C from the console. As far as you other issue goes... it sounds like you may have a corrupted template... What you can do is replace the design with one of the other mail templates, see if that helps...

Everyone can read my e-mail without giving them access.

How about turning on "Enforce consistent ACL across all replicas of the database"? Chances are, someone has a local replica of their database and therefore is a manager of the local replica.

    Nhttp.exe Error Message

Understand that no client is on the machine. Need to know, if you receive the Nhhhtp.exe error, can you go to the Domino console and type Load HTTP and have it load or does it tell you that it's already loaded? Are you using the iNotes template or the Extended mail template on your users?

    Nhttp.exe Error Message

What version of Domino are you running? Are you able to type in Load HTTP at the console and get it going again? If so, it's the server task, not the client.

    Notes on Taskbar

WOW. I amazed that a 4.6 client is even working correctly without a whole heck of a lot of red screens in WinXP.

Moving Domino to a different server and migrating the data

I think I would approach this slightly differently. I would register the new server with the new name and go on ahead and set it up as an additional server in the Domain (R5.0.11). Once set up, I would use the admin client to move all of the mail files and replicate any databases that need to...
