Well it is not outlook who is doing this. Looks like the solution was to remove the sent as / recieve as out of the authenticated user group in the exchange mailstore. Why could no one in this forum point that as a possible solution ? Why fixing on outlook if the security problem is on the...

Problem solved. We put the smarthost in the the default smtp server and that is something you better don't. Instead make your routing group between the two servers. Then create at the two servers an internet smtp connector and put the smarthost there. Now everything is working fine.

No i'm doing this from the dc. Adding a user and the say create mailbox. When i use the dropdown box then i can see the old and new exchange server. But i can only see the mailboxstore from the old server and not the new one. The old one is a 2003 and the new one a 2010 exchange server.
