Hello everybody,
I have an Ultra30 with onboard hme and pci qfe interfaces.
I set up a jumpstart server to be able to perform fast and unattended reinstallations for tests.
The jumpstart server works fine with an U2, but when trying to boot the U30 using any of the interfaces, I receive the...
Hi all,
we are running MeasureWare Agent version C03.00.00 on an NT4 Server. MWA successfully collects ARM event based transaction data (local log export shows data is collected).
When trying to view the data with PerfView or rying to gather the data using Reporter, no transaction data is...
Ooops, I just saw that I mentioned the fact that all schedules are calendar based in the headline only.
So, to clarify things, I defined the schedules as calendar based because of the easiness of configuration. And afaik frequency can only be defined in frequency based schedules, right...
Hi,
in any case after the installation you will have to modify the bp.conf file on your master server. Below the first SERVER= line which should contain your master server's name, you have to add a SERVER= line with your new media server's name.
After that you should be able to configure the...
Hello all,
we have configured policies to run full backups on weekends (window sat 20:00 to mon 04:00) and cumulative incrementals during work days (window mon to fri each 22:00 to 04:00).
A monthly schedule performs fulls on every first day of a month with a longer retention (windows mon to...
Hi all,
yep, network connections are fine for client and server, as well as DNS. Licenses: still got about 20 unused client licenses.
But thanks, any idea is still a help, because I don't think I thought of everything. I still expect the solution to be kind of obvious...

Hi all,
here are some resluts:
1. DNS entries rechecked -> o.k.
We do not use local host files, but I tried anyway (without disabling DNS, because we need it). I added host1o and host1 to the host file, not host1t -> timeout, no backup.
2. Deleting /nsr/tmp -> no change
3. Added host1t as...
Hi,
the problem is most likely related to access rights.
To perform a directed recover, the client the data goes to needs to have access to the files of the system the data originally belongs to and administrative rights on the NetWorker server.
Depending on the OS the server and clients are...
Hi Paul,
you can check the process list for nsrjb commands running:
ps -ef|grep nsrjb
If you find more than the expected number (more than you started), you can be quite certain that something is hanging there. It may happen sometimes that NetWorker does not get the reply from the autochanger...
Hi all,
I have a strange problem with networker 6.1.1 on solaris8.
I have to explain the history a bit, so that the problem becomes understandable...
The backup clients have two network interfaces, one is connected to the backup server.
The hostnames are defined in DNS as this:
host1t = ip...
Hi,
I found it helpful to use the hostname as the client name and define the fqdn as an alias for the client. This makes the naming of the clients a little more readable...
If you are working in a DNS environment, NetWorker will resolve the hostname forward end reverse as a test before creating...
Hi all,
I have a problem with NetWorker 6.2.
We have to unload tapes automatically after backup is completed.
The parameter idle device timeout in the autochanger resource is set to 1 (which acording to the online help should unload tapes after 1 minute of idle-time), but the tape is never...
