    If the win98 startup disk drivers work fine then maybe you could use one of them to run your drive instead. Just start up on the disk and check to see which one is detecting the cd-rom. then copy this to the hdd, and insert it into your CONFIG.SYS file. It may also be a faulty power supply...

    IE 5 password problem

    It seems to me that sometimes, IE will remember it, but it needs prompting. type the first few letters of the username that it already should have remembered. Then press the down arrow key, and select the login name desired. It should then input the password for you.

    According to Kurt Semler's site (k-semler.filetap.com), "To run Windows 1.01, you need to have MS-DOS 5.00 or lower. It will not run on the 6.xx series." I haven't had time to try this yet, but that's what it says. He also has links to the OS' you can use.
