.rar?

I downloaded a copy of Windows 1.01, but it is a .rar format. Nothin that I have can read this file, what should I do? Does anyone have the .exe?

Ok, I got the bloody thing loaded onto my computer, but it won't run, i think I set it up wrong, does anybody have any experience working with REALLY REALLY REALLY old versions of Windows?

According to Kurt Semler's site (k-semler.filetap.com),

"To run Windows 1.01, you need to have MS-DOS 5.00 or lower. It will not run on the 6.xx series."

I haven't had time to try this yet, but that's what it says.
He also has links to the OS' you can use.

you must boot from floppy and run Windows 1-2 also from floppy. It's not easy to run old Windows from modern hard drive of under modern operatins systems. Also, CPU speed and modern video cards was a problem for it
