Hey all,
MY taskbar is not coming up. When I move the cursor there I see the mouse change from the pointer to the "expand" but it won't bring it up. I get nothing from restarting explorer from the task bar, but it does come up with various memory usages anything from 16,000 to 24,000.

eleven sheets only, one is master then one for each position, issue is that when you list the master alphabetically the first sheet would be the catchers and unfortunately baseball doesn't have players play alphabetically by position!

My money is on the CD Rom drive itself. I have had one fail on me in an NT installation last week. The drive was about three years old but the computer had not been in the best environment, outdoor enclosure. I attached one of the office spares and it saw the CD straight away.

I can't do a clean install as there is a mutlitude of software on the system, that happens to only work with SP5 and hasn't been tested thoroughly with SP6. I will root around in the registry and see if I can find the SP level and then if I can change that I will try and install SP5.

We need to unnstall SP6. The tech who decided to put on a Windows NT box did so errantly and didn't install the "uninstall" option. As a result the systems boots saying we have SP6 but we don't have the obvious remove option from the Add/Remove programs. I was wondering if I were to reload...

You need to run some malware and spyware programs which will most likely detect settings and programs that are causing this issue. Alternatively you could go to a Mozilla browser like Netscape.

I see the same, it is a log on screen for AOL users, similar to AOL.com which is what my browser forwarded to. If you don't see it check your IE list of blocked sites and see if it is listed.

This seems like a typical, "well we can't test it every way" MS issue. Wait for SP3 for XP.

Check all your cables are properly inserted, this is 90% of the cause. Is the CD working if attached to another system? Some CD's actually may require drivers, so check the manufaturers website for more information.

According to the beep codes it is most likely a CPU fan issue. If he has the temperature alarm setting too low this may be the issue. However, the most likely resolution here is more ventilation.

Have you tried querying the modem to see if there any anomalies? You might have the wrong driver installed, or the modem manufacturer may have a newer driver released compatible with a recent Service Pack you may have added afterwards.

You may have an issue with the format of the drive. A few weeks ago I had a drive that was FAT and not recognised by 2K (NTFS). You can convert this drive from FAT to NTFS and should do so.

Before you had wireless what were your SMTP settings? Sometimes with the adapters like linksys you may have to change your smtp to smtp.linksys.com or the like. What models are we talking about here?

You could also check with the mobo manufacturers web page to make sure it is compatible with the NT OS. Also when you are first loading NT you should have the bare minimum attached for less headaches. Do NOT install networking until after you have loaded everything, then applied a SP like 5 or...
I have four computers networked. It seems that the win2K is losing its connection with the master (winNT) computer or the master (winNT) computer cannot talk to the slave (win2K). Also in explorer from either the master or slave we are not able to see any of the other computers. I tried...
