To use nat (non vpn) you will need another valid internet address so that the router can nat it through to an internal address.
For a VPN option you will need to get the ip firewall/vpn feature pack for your router.
In a set up as simple as this I usualy have the ser interface unnumbered against the ether interface as it is nice and simple.
interface serial0
ip unnumbered ethernet0 (on both routers)
ip classless
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 ser0 (on bopth routers)

Thanks for your respones. I found out the problem. We were using an un-balanced card, on an x21 interface at the NTU. The un-balanced card will only support BNC. BT did terminate on the x21 and are now moving it to the BNC. If BT's network was a balanced network we would have used a balanced...

Thx Guys, I'll give it a try, the interface card is a
NW-2CE1B, It will be taking 10 Leased lines (of various speeds). It will definatly be using time slots i.e. 1 slot for a 64k and 2 slots for a 128 etc. I just want to be on the safe side.
