Just installed a new Exchange Enterprise 2003 on 2003 Standard Server.
When looking at logons in ESM it shows one person as having logged on to someone elses mailbox, but it's about 100 odd mailboxes at exactly the same time, which is impossible.
Any thoughts anyone?
Cheers for your help and...
Ok, I've just installed a new Exchange 2003 server, and I'm feeling pretty damn smug. I decide to look at my work email just as I'm about to go to bed, and see that the MD is informing me that he can't access his mail through Citrix:-(
Basically I thought when the users used outlook in their...
The MD's not keen on "Nanny" type software, likes to treat everyone as "adults".
So what checks the authentication? If I know that then I'm half way there (sort of)!!
Cheers for your help Longhair.

No there isn't a proxy. If someone sits at a desk with their own laptop and plug a network cable into it they get access to the internet.
I would assume if they had the knowledge they could also try and get access to other things ON the network. Lastly they're bound to have a virus or 2.
Yes...
I have trouble with some offshore engineers coming into my building with their own "home laptops" and pluging a network cable in them. With XP it generally lets you get on the net etc, and poses a security problem.
Is there a script or something that I could get/ attempt to write, that could...
Just before the log in screen appears a little box comes up with an exclamation mark, and yes or no buttons. It doesn't matter if you click on yes or no as it doesn't do anything, and the PC wont boot into safe mode.
Any Idea's people?
Cheers for any help.

fixed it.
I added the user to the "tektips" folder through it's own security and gave them the same permissions as if they were using the security group "tektips_rw". I could then open all the files in all 3 subfolders.
I then took the user out of the "tektips" folders security, and left...
The user is a member of other groups but they have nothing to do with the folder or files that can't be accessed.
Everyones on either 2000 or XP
I logged the user on my own pc and the problem was still there.
Aye Ready....well, maybe ;)
There's a folder on a network drive, lets say it's called "Tektips", inside this folder there are 3 other folders called "One", "Two" & "Three" with files in then.
Now there's a security group called "tektips_RW" with 14 people in it which is applied to the Folder "tektips", and all...
Deleted the profile by right clicking on [My Computer] [Properties], [User Profiles] and the [Delete].
There's no trace of the users folder in Documents and settings, but it is still in the Profilelist in regedit.
How can I get this profile back???
Please help!!!!

Is there any major differences between Windows 2000 Server and Windows 2000 Advanced Server?
All help very much appreciated.

I don't think there will be a relocation package, but on £36K I don't think you'd need it.
Yes there is a domain. We have a PDC and a BDC as well. But what you've already said makes perfect sense, and it was what I was going to do but wasn't 100% sure if it was the right thing to do...
Right on Sunday the Power is being switched off at my work for maintenance. My boss hasn't shown himself all week and I will have to shut these things down. how should I go about it

Ok what happens if the Global Catalog tick wasn't ticked on the Server that was being promoted, and the PDC was demoted?
Can I some how still copy over the Global Catalog? Aye Ready....well, maybe ;)
Ok now I know how and why it's happened, but I can't find anywhere that gives me an explanation of how to go about fixing it?
Anyone!?!?! Aye Ready....well, maybe ;)
Ok, so I had a PDC which i demoted to an ordinary member and I had a BDC which I promoted to the PDC. Unfortunately the original PDC held the global catalogue, so now no one in the comapny can get access to their email. How can this happen? and how can I fix it? Aye Ready....well, maybe ;)
