Yeah i Got the locking of the sheet part down but i want them to enter a date instead of text. The issue is that they are entering TBA and i want them to set a DEADLINE! :) thus i want a date format in the delivery date and also i don't want them leaving it blank. :) Does that make more sense...

THANKS! I changed the col. ref and it works for the 1st cell....But that only works for one iteration. The first time i go the cell and enter in incorrect data and hit enter it gives me the error. The 2nd time i enter incorrect data and hit enter it stays there and no error message appears...

If you are using number instead....change the number field length to DOUBLE. This will stop access from rounding it off. In fact i have my access properties set to default all my numerical fields to double just for that reason. hope this helps. :) m

if you don't really need security from people who know how get around it....Just add a simple pop up box on your main menu or whatever form you want password protected. add this for the Private sub on the ONLOAD proceedure of the form you wish to protect. Elvis is the password i used here...

Well i've ditched the filter idea and went for a query that querys the information from the changes in the combo box for MRnumber. I hope this works. I still don't have this working smoothly. thanks for all your help though! marie

Ok. Showing all records doesn't work. I checked after i try selecting a different person and in the filter line of the form is still the OLD person's number. The error i get when trying to change the person is this... "Function is not available in expressions in table-level validation...

Well The combo box gives me no error and yes the value is a number. it's a medical record number. But the rest of the information on the form is not refreshing. Requery doesn't work. AHH! Please help. What do you need to know to help me. Thanks m
