    VERITAS BEWS 10 released

Let's face it. Sometimes we get forced into performing live updates despite our best advice and judgement to the contrary. My budget and organization does not have the money to invest in series of "test servers". Nonetheless, relying on info I gathered from this forum concerning the upgrade...

What? Are you a product rep for Veritas?

    BEWS 10

That is not our experience. The software is becoming more and more expensive and is compatible with fewer platforms. Some organizations cannot afford the hardware upgrades pushed by the software manufactures. We do not have the luxury of large I.T. budgets. And, as far as tech support.... We...

    BEWS 10

Be leary about installing and using BEWS 10. No NT4 server OS's are supported - only 2000 and 2003. Oh, and just try to get support from Veritas.

    Avotus or OTM ?

If you can afford it in any way whatsoever, go with Avotus and not OTM. As said earlier, it was Avotus's product that OTM is based on except Avotus's version runs on a UNIX kernel. OTM has been hacked to run within MS Windows OS. OTM has to be one of the worst engineered products known to...

TMDI won't come back after the T1 Goes Down

I am running a M1-11C (SW 24.30). If the T1 between us and our LEC goes down for a second or so the TMDI is able to deal with it. If it goes down for any longer than that the TMDI goes into alarm state and won't come back unless I reset the card (CC stays red) or do a cold start. This can't...
