Access Denied To Shared Folder

As usual, it was something obvious. The share permissions had an entry for my "regular" account with full control access. It also had an entry for "Everyone" which explicitly denied all access. The entry for "Everyone" was overriding my account. Duh. Thanks for...

    Access Denied To Shared Folder

I set both permissions. I'm logged in to the server as administrator. Domain Users is in the Local User group. It's probably something obvious and simple (it always is). I just can't figure it out.

    Access Denied To Shared Folder

I've got an NT4 PDC and a web server running W2K. I've shared a folder on the W2K machine and set up permissions to allow my username (DOMAIN/User) full control. The W2K machine is a member of DOMAIN. When I added the permissions, it allowed me to select from the list of users stored on the...

    Routing Question

I called SBC and, after nearly an hour on the phone, we figured out that those two numbers were in a hunt group on the Plexar system at the TELCO. They almost didn't catch it until I told them I had checked my Norstar configuraion five times and determined that there was no way this routing...

    Routing Question

My system is a MICS 5.0 DN 231 is assigned line 092 (Appr&Ring) DN 232 is assigned line 093 (Appr&Ring) Each set has two IC buttons. Both IC buttons on each set are programmed exactly the same (231 > Port 111, 232> Port 112). Both sets are set up to forward no answer and forward on busy to...

    access.log question

That's exactly what it is. Sometimes, I overlook the most obvious things. Sheesh... And, for the record, it's occurring every 60 seconds and not every 60 minutes like I originally posted. Thanks for pointing out what was right in front of my face!

    access.log question

I'm running Apache/1.3.26 (Win32) PHP/4.2.1. This is not necessarily a problem so much as it is a nuisance. My access.log contains the following exactly every 60 minutes: 192.168.1.100 - - [15/Aug/2002:00:00:07 -0500] "HEAD / HTTP/1.0" 200 0 Is this normal behavior, or can I suppress...

    VM 7 Dials Out

Plexar is a SBC/Southwestern Bell service. From their website: "Plexar is a full-service telecommunications system for business. Every phone at your location has its own dedicated connection to switching equipment at our central office. Everyone at your business gets the convenience of a...

    VM 7 Dials Out

I'm still fighting with this one. It has never worked for me, even though everything appears to be set up correctly. Under F983, outdial is set to line and I have a line selected. Under F981, function 8, the Outbound xfr Transfer Dest is set to my cell phone number. I call my number, let it...

    NAM IP

Nope. No way to hook anything up to it. It's got a modem, a NIC, and two serial ports but no video card or keyboard port. I wish it did - changing the IP would be so much easier that way!

    NAM IP

Guys and Gals, I can't find my copy of NAM/IP Lite. Can anyone help me out? It's for a NAM 4.0. I can be reached at blawson@vvm.com. Thanks.

    Select Mailbox?

Hello Everyone, Here's the scenario (on a MICS 5.0 with a NAM). I have one office with two M7208's. The DNs are 250 and 264. Both of them are assigned line 099. Forward no answer is set to 269 (VM). Currently, a caller coming in on line 099 is sent to VM after four rings but all of the messages...

    Did it upgrade correctly?

I know this sounds obvious, but did you restart the httpd? If so, could it be a browser cache issue? I tend to overlook the obvious sometimes.

    DHCP question

Why not just configure a 3 day lease time in the scope properties and manually delete the old, unused leases in the active leases window? I don't think rebuilding the server is the way to go. It's a bit drastic just to clean up junk leases.

How do I fix a "Self registration of the DLL c:\winnt\system32\comcat.dll failed : 0d" problem?

When upgrading to a new service pack (specifically, to SP4), some users may receive and error such as: [color red]Self registration of the DLL c:\winnt\system32\comcat.dll failed : 0d Processing file <drive>:\Eng\server\setup\I386\event.ins at or near line 22 The specified procedure could...

    Can't See Past Router?

You know, sometimes a network administrator gets so caught up in "major" problems that he overlooks "minor" issues. In short, it's never a good thing for a machine to have a gateway of set 10.0.0.1 when the correct gateway assigned by DHCP is totally different - especially...

    Can't See Past Router?

mudskipper: I'll check on the license thing, but this system was actually one of the first to log on to the network this morning. I reveived a call on this same machine a few days ago. The user couldn't access the outside world. I opened IE, entered an IP of a web server outside the LAN, and...

    Can't See Past Router?

I admin a LAN which consists of an NT 4.0 server, about 15 Win 98 machines and five XP machines. Everything runs smoothly except for one little problem: I have one XP machine that can't see past the router. I can ping everything up to the router from this machine, then, nothing else will...

    LAN Connectivity

I think I have it figured out (though not 100%). My router has DHCP built in and I had DHCP running on the server. Can't exactly have two DHCP servers going. I think I'm headed down the right track now, but I'll probably have some questions for you guys in the future. Thanks alot!
