Thankfully my machine is connecting to all the domain resources ok. .... its just very strange that the Media Center application won't connect to the internet. And I can't find anywhere you can tweek any internet settings other than is it 'dial up' or 'always on'.

I have just gone onto my server, deleted all of the dsn's and all of the SQL server users and started from scratch. And with a bit of playing around with the permissions (really I dont know how I have done it! :) ) But it now works!!!! Thank you so much to everyone that has helped with this...
