HTH, thanks for all your help. I found the problem. The onboard HP NetRaid was enabled on the new mother board. Thats y when SCO was trying to find a disk on controller 0, LUN0 it gave the error no root hd controller was found. I disabled the onboard controller and everything worked fine.

Each NIC card has a MAC address. Each NIC manufacturing vendor has a specified range of MAC address allocated to it by IEEE. The first three number of the MAC address should be able to tell u who the manufacturer is. Dig on google and u will get what u want .

Does anyone know if SCO allows IRQ sharing. I have a adaptec SCSI card and a Mylex RAID controller on my server. Upon running hw -r pci, I discovered that both these controllers had the same interrupt line. Is this normal ???
Have you confirmed if the sendmail daemon is up and running and accepting connections ??? Telnet to the server running sendmail as follows:
telnet < server ip > 25
if you are able to establish a connection means that sendmail daemon is working fine. also check is deliver daemon is running

I have few of SCO servers and for some reason one of them just becomes slow during the day. There is no fixed time. Can anyone tell me what I can do to check y the system is behaving like this. Also does anyone has a copy of a compilied version of the TOP utility for SCO.
