error in messages file

Folks,
I need help urgently. I am getting these messages in my messages file. For some reason the server performance degrades drastically.

I assume you have an Intel main board in this server.
Are you running SMP?
Have you installed any new pci hardware lately?

I have installed a new 3com 3c905b PCI nic card.
 
See:

It suggests the following:
- Move the new card to another PCI slot or another PCI bus
- Install the latest release supplements for your release of
the operating system (ftp them from caldera.com)
- Acquire newer drivers for the installed card.
- Upgrade the PCI BIOS of the machine.

I would recommend trying these one at a time, in that order.
