It is hard to tell the problem from the data alone. A copy of the query would help however I recommend checking the joins to other tables. You have to put conditions in the query to filter records from each table. Using aliases helps as well. For example; Select t1.c1, t2.c2...

Go to the local library. You will find copious volumes on SQL including SQL Server. As a start you could get hold of a book list from college which will give you an idea where to start, if you have absolutly no idea. The konwledge is out there, you just have to read about it. Have fun.

Hope someone can help. I have a process which generates a 104Meg ouptut file. I need to zip it up before moving it to a share drive. As I am using DTS to generate the file I thought it would be appropriate for DTS to compress the output - after all it can email it.. Does anyone have any Ideas...
