Go to the local library. You will find copious volumes on SQL including SQL Server. As a start you could get hold of a book list from college which will give you an idea where to start, if you have absolutly no idea.

The konwledge is out there, you just have to read about it.

Have fun.

Here are some of the books I've used. None is really a beginner book but all contain good information.

Inside SQL Server 2000 by Kalen Delaney
(Excellent reference for many aspects of SQL Server administration and development.)

SQL Server 7 Adminstrator's Guide by Ron Talmage
(SQL 2000 version due out July 31.)

The Guru's Guide to Transact-SQL by Ken Henderson.
(Solid book that can help beginner as well as seasoned professional learn T-SQL.)

Check book reviews at the following sites.

As a beginner I think you should get familiar with normalisation rules.
Then TSQL (for sql server) and then

normalisation:

sql:

Check the internet for terms like TSQL and beginners you can find lots more.

As for books, I have SQL server 2000 programming by wrox. If it doesn't make you wizer it will sure make you stronger carrying 1391 pages with you.
