Hi there,
I have an exchange 2010 farm against which I am running the powershell command:
Get-Activesyncdevice
Which then returns a list of devices, and assorted information regarding the user and device.
However, one thing that is returned is the OS of the device, but it is not always...

I've tried both. :-(

Thanks for the post, I have already tried without the plug in, and the problem still persists.
I have a possible work around, which I am in the process of testing.
The work around is that if you go into more settings when the print dialogue box appears, and click on the print quality drop...
OK, so I am having a bit of a nightmare with this.
Users are using Chrome as their default browser, as the software they use has a plug in which only works with Chrome, or so I am told.
When printing from Chrome, it sometimes prints, some time it doesn't.
When it doesn't, it appears in the...
My apologies, I rewrote my inital message before posting, and forgot to put the version of Outlook. It is 2011 for Mac.
I shall have a read of the web page, and see what is needed.
Cheers,
Andy

Hi,
Having just aquired a macbook, running Sierra, I am looking for a bit of advice from you knowledgeable guys and girls.
I have set up my icloud account on the macbook, and it is syncing fine with Mac Contacts and Calendar. Is it possible to get this to sync with Outlook as well/instead of...
Don't know if anyone has come across this issue before.
I have a Watchguard Firebox edge X5. Trusted network is on 192.168.100.x/24, Optional is on 192.168.1.x/24.
The WAN1 port is connected to a netgear modem, which picks up a static IP from our ISP, and the watchguard sees this, and reports...
The last 3 places I've worked have had various rules about supplying broadband.
The first place paid for me to have broadband. I didn't have it, and personally at the time did not need it. (Considering this was about year 2005 so just when broadband was becoming affordable) They paid for the...
I have recently inherited a VMWare ESX 3.5 ga (Inital release, I know, should be updated, and is on my list of things to do! :-) ) environment, which has a VM running 2008 64bit, and Exchange 2007.
Runs very nicely as well.

I have to agree with much of the advice here - If it is a minor incedent, have a quiet word with the offending person, and write it down in your diary/outlook calender etc. That way, when it gets beyond a joke, and you escalate it, you can say to whoever you are escalating it to that you have...
I tried a vista -> windows 7 upgrade, but it failed, as I had moved the location of users data to D:, and hacked the registry to make sure that any new users used the same area.
Will try it on a new install basis once I have a spare machine (possibly later this week)...
I have had the firewall open for all access, and a connection still cannot be made. I suspect that Lemon13's suggestion is going to be the only way to do it.

Can anyone assist with this situation.
A client has obtained a Netgear SC101, which he uses for storing documents and drawings for his business.
These can be accessed across his network without any problems at all, from both his desktop and laptop.
However, he also has a Netgear DGFV338 ADSL...
Thanks for the assistance. This is what I thought, but just wanted to double check.
I have sent an e-mail to the necessary people.

Hi guys, hope that someone will be able to help me out here with regards to licensing for Windows Vista.
I have a requirement to upgrade a small number of PC's at a small firm from XP Home to XP Professional. However, XP Pro upgrade licenses are becomming hard to get hold of (in the UK at...
AC is well known for creating spikes in power supplies. Traditionally, A/C is on a separate supply to all other kit, epecially IT/Networking kit, as inevitably, UPS's don't switch over quickly enough. Most UPS's are also smoothing units, but the drop introduced by A/C is outside most UPS...
Personally, considering you are new to servers and networking, I would go with 2003. The reason for that is that 2000 Server is now in the extended support phase, that is the last phase before all support from Microsoft stops, although this will be around for another 2 years yet.
You will find...
I have a degree in software engineering, and have always worked in PC, Server and Network environments. I have not coded in anger since leaving Uni in '96.
Having a degree in Software Engineering will not necessarily limit your choice of jobs. Having a general IT degree will stop you from...
Be very careful. I have been in a similar situation.
I used to work for a large Company, with many offices all over the UK and the world. Each division of the company employed it's own IT staff, and whilst on an informal basis, we each helped other group companies out when we could, there was...
