Well as the subject says I'm getting that error whenever I try to do a backup. Its on SBS2003 running BUE 9.1, I have uninstalled BUE 9.1 and reinstalled and still the error appears. Communication with the tape is fine as the erase runs ok, but the backup fails after about 3mins. If it helps...

Have had this many times (but only on external bound mail), and every time it was a problem with my ADSL provider who also provide SMTP service. So might be worth a call to check all their systems are ok.

I've had similar problems in the past and it's usually down to the lack/wrong DNS Server being listed in the TCP/IP properties.
