Verify that the following environment variables are set, and are set correctly.

I believe that v9.1b and above is certified for Win2k. After saying that, I am currently running v8.2c along with Syteline v2h on Win2k boxes (Sp2) with no problems. There is however a problem reported with Service pack 3 causing printing problems.
Go to Tools then Options.
On the VIEW tab under SHOW select the STARTUP DIALOG box.
This will show the original Dialog box on startup.

Do you have Samba running? If you do then configure it to act as a WINS server. In your Win9x DUN enter the ip address of your Linux box as the WINS server. That should enable you to "see" the other computers on the network. Configuring the Samba server as an NT domain controller...
You need to place a /yes as an argument to the net stop command. This will execute the NET STOP command without first prompting you for further information or confirm actions.

Try this. On the Windows box share the drive you want to back up to. Give full access without a password. On the Linux box open a terminal, cd to /mnt directory mkdir Win98Backup and mount the drive with the command mount -t vfat //Win98MachineName/SharedDriveName /mnt/Win98backup.

IIRC you can still use SWAT for Samba. The only difference is the port number. I think it is 1000 instead of 901. Hope this helps.
