i've had similar issues (it wouldn't open but I got an error) on XP Pro: I had to change the desktop theme to something else, do the add/remove that i needed to and change the theme back.
all very odd....

hi longhair

but i can't find anything on the web on what to do with the files once i've got them...
Hi All
This is a test server, so its not the end of the world, but I'd just like to try and fix it rather than wipe and start again ;)
Its a single DC that has never been backed up. I was in the process of installing and patching Veritas BExec 9.0 when I was left with the "Inaccessible boot...
The answer is now posted on captaris.com - Rightfax 8.5 does not work with Win2000 SP4 without patching Rightfax.
Rightfax needs to be patched to SP5 - that's the server and the client apps, then it all seems to work properly!
thanks for the reply pfnagel, i've tried what you suggest but i still have the same problem. this occurs when upgrading the (test) server from 7.2 on NT4 to 8.5 on Win2000, no matter which I do first this ends up the result!
a question if you have 8.5 - faxstat.exe has vanished, if i can't...
Just like to add that I'm getting that message too, I will post here if I find a solution!
Good to see there's other poor souls out there who have to config Rightfax! :o)
The media server is in a W2K AD domain, complete with DNS (no WINS anywhere here!) but the NT box is not. I can browse to it through Network Neighbourhood but could that be because it is now in the hosts? I can't remember for sure but I don't think I could browse to it previously...
Will try...
Cheers for replying setveot
Ping - couldn't but can now i've added it to the hosts file. However BEWS let me add the server as a User-defined selection without complaint just by using the name...?
Which part of the job log, as ours are very big?!
BEremote.exe is version 9.1.4691.0, installed...
Hi All
Have Searched here and rest of the web to no avail, I cannot get around a 'Not authorised to access this item' when trying to back up a NT4 server from Win2000 media server.
Am using the remote administrator account, have reinstalled locally from the cd, am darned sure we do have enough...
Hi All
Just migrated from Netware 3 with Connect2/ExpressIT email to the wonderful world of Win2000 and Exch2000, with OLK2002 client. Lovely...
Anyhoo, I have a situation that someone may have come across before:
Enter a second or third email for a contact in a users outlook address book...
Hi All
If I could ask you to cast your minds back...!
I'm running a server with AS 6.6 on Netware 3.12 and have acquired another (identical) DLT2500 tape changer. Is there any way to set it up so that when the tapes in the first changer are full, the job will then carry on running but on the...
hi folks
have the same problem with a nc4000, the latest NDIS drivers for the NIC from Bart's NBD page load ok but cannot find the NIC. A colleague has suggested that this is because the NIC interfaces directly with the Northbridge rather than sitting on the PCI bus. If this is the case it...
Thanks Jabus
The host server has 1 18Gb SCSI hdd running off the on-board SCSI II controller, the changer is on the addin controller.
It has 256Mb, would you think that would make is swap a lot when backing up?
On the subject of duplexing, I have all our NICs set to full duplex although I've...
Hi
I have the following hardware:
Compaq DL320 Win2000 Server with a
Compaq 64/66 SCSI III Controller running a
HP 1/8 DLTvs80 Autoloader and of course
Arcserve 2000 A/E patched to the hilt
My question relates to speed: when backing up itself I see an average of 160Mb/min, when backing up a...
Ta for the reply, the session was over 2 tapes - I was trying to get out of restoring the 50Gb from tape 1 that had completed. Couldn't so had to waste another 24 hours restoring!
Good job there's noone here doing any work!
Cheers and happy new year
Hi all
I think I may know the answer to this already, but here goes:
Large restore job (96Gb) spanning two tapes. Running fine until Arcserve (6.1 NW) decides tape 2 isn't there. Have to stop job and remount tapes. Is there any way of just restoring the data from tape 2, without using the...
