Hi all

I think I may know the answer to this already, but here goes:

Large restore job (96Gb) spanning two tapes. Running fine until Arcserve (6.1 NW) decides tape 2 isn't there. Have to stop job and remount tapes. Is there any way of just restoring the data from tape 2, without using the skip option as that's taking as long as the restore?

Any help appreciated, cheers

HI,

If the session you are restoring, spans onto tape 2 , then you need to remount the media..

however, if the sessions to be restored is on tape 2 only, and you know the session #, you can restore the session using "restore by backup media"

Hope this helps

cheers

Ta for the reply, the session was over 2 tapes - I was trying to get out of restoring the 50Gb from tape 1 that had completed. Couldn't so had to waste another 24 hours restoring!

Good job there's noone here doing any work!

Cheers and happy new year
