No logon servers available to service the logon request

Hi jtrober Yeah I found the culprit. Sorry I didn't update this thread! It was all down to lmhosts files. I looked into how to set them up properly and voila. Here's how mine are set up now with no problems.. lmhosts on a BDC of the old domain on the WAN: 192.168.1.254 NT4PDC #PRE...

    I've got a feeling this is a wind-up.

    2560 POE Issues... PLEASE HELP

I thought 'E' stood for electric, but I could be wrong. I'll have to look into that. Don't use a crossover cable, this would certainly damage one of the 2560 switches. You would only use a crossover cable when one unit is UK 240AC and the other is US 120AC. Tell your mates friends cousins...

    2560 POE Issues... PLEASE HELP

sorry, I missed that bit. Double check that the cable you are using is Cat6e. It's important it has the 'e' on the end, as this enables to send power down the cable. hope it helps punce

Reducing file size of docs with images

Thanks people! One problem though, I have never used VBscript. This is something strange I have found with the compress function... If I open the document, go into the format image screen and compress the image, it doesn't work. I have to bring the image to the front before this will work!?

Reducing file size of docs with images

Hi, Is there an automated way of reducing the size of these documents. What the users here have done for years, is to use a template for various forms that contain a huge company logo that has been resized. I can go into each document, bring the logo to the front and use the compress function...

    Timeout Expired

Yeah that's what totally threw me, it would work most of the time, then a phonecall "It's gone again". It would be down for about 10 - 30 mins, then it would be up again for a lengthy period. Totally confused me!>!

    Timeout Expired

Thanks Sheco. You put me on the right tracks and I managed to solve the problem :)))) I went down the IP adress thinking and I tried the 1st obvious thing, which is try to ping the database server from the web server, and it couldn't find it! A few tweaks in DNS later... I'm a happy bunny...

Aaaaah. Something we did on the database server actually was to change the IP address. You think there might be something in the code somewhere pointing to the wrong IP or something? But why is it intermittent. hmmm.

    Timeout Expired

Hi, I've just gone into IIS and clicked on the [configuration] button on the Virtual Directory tab and under Options the ASP Script Timeout is set to 120 seconds.

    Timeout Expired

Hi. We've just started to have an intermittent problem with our asp/sql2k db. It works fine most of the time, but then it can kick us out for spells, then fix itself. The error page we get is: "HTTP 500.100 - Internal Server Error - ASP error Internet Information Services Technical...

No logon servers available to service the logon request

This is still proving to be a nightmare!! :( I have found something strange though that might be linked. As soon as I create a Trust between the new 2k3 AD domain to one of the old NT domains, I then can't connect to a share on that particular old NT domain. What's going on?

No logon servers available to service the logon request

That's the problem, it doesn't prompt for a login. There's a delay, then I get the error box pop up (There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request). The trust is working fine because I can browse the NT PDC on the same LAN.

No logon servers available to service the logon request

I can ping my new AD FQDN. But I can't ping the NT Domain, never have been able to.

No logon servers available to service the logon request

thanks. The PDC is on the same network as the 2003 DC in our main office. The BDC's are on the WANs. I can ping, browse, etc the PDC, so it's authenticating fine for that. But the problem is only when I try to browse the BDC on the WANs. I can ping them fine ?? When you say to 'try to ping...

No logon servers available to service the logon request

Hi, I'm just starting to migrate from NT4 to 2k3 by doing a restructure, and I've hit a hurdle. We have a few remote offices (2Mb linked WANS) and the way the old domain was set up was: PDC at main office, and a BDC of the same domain in the remote offices. So I have installed a new 2k3 server...

I have the same problem, here's something I found, on my search for a solution: -------- Quote: The RAS version of Crystal Enterprise comes with an 'out-of-the-box' front end, the ePortfolio lite. One user recently shared an "undocumented feature" of this application with me...

    Disclaimer on INTERNAL mail?

Stupid me! It wasn't what I was looking for, I mistook Inbound mail with Internal mail, so my original question still applies!
