How to remove embedded ^M from print jobs?

Hi rharsh, There is a line of code in the script to get the line length - $m_len = length($m_line); Your idea of removing all the ^M's then adding one back at the end of the line sounds promising but I don't know how to do it - my Perl skills are limited. Any suggestions on how to do this...

How to remove embedded ^M from print jobs?

Thanks for your help Kirsle. I applied the changes you suggested but it didn't make any difference. Perhaps on my initial post I didn't explain the situation clearly. Control character, mainly ^M are getting into our EAM application Ellipse through the front end screens. A work order was...

How to remove embedded ^M from print jobs?

Hi, We are experiencing problems with embedded control characters in our EAM application Ellipse. It is not causing a problem with the online system but it is with CSV extracts and print jobs. I have been able to get around the problem on the CSV extracts using the UNIX function 'tr' before...

    File layout for inventory items

You can do a desc on the table from SQL or you can look in the data dictionary which will be somewhere in the documentation that came with Ellipse. Tables: MSF100 - Stock Code - global catalogue MSF170 - District Inventory MSF180 - Warehouse Inventory

    How to reserve inventory

Reservations of material for future use are made simply by entering a requisition with a future date required (outside the warehouse service time). The re-order algorithms only take into account requisitioned items that fall within the lead time of the item.

CICS - is there a Broadcast facility?

Hi Andrew, We're using a fat client - no Citrix. For some reason management are against Citrix.

    CICS Errors

I'm not familiar with Ellipse runnings under Windows but there is another place you can check. Run msqcpl.cpl in the Program Files\Mincom\Ellipse\WinView\Bin direcory and check Login Defaults under Ellipse UI Login properties.

    CICS Errors

I'm assuming you're running Ellipse from UNIX. Did you change the ip address in /etc/hosts?

    CICS Errors

Did you modify the CTG.INI file in the CICS bin directory? You'll also have to restart the CICS service on the Desktop to pick up the change.

CICS - is there a Broadcast facility?

Thanks for your reply. We're running Ellipse on a UNIX host but unfortunately not all users have an email address. Ideally I would like to broadcast through CICS so all users would see the message.

CICS - is there a Broadcast facility?

Under other TP Systems it is possible to broadcast a message to Ellipse users, for example advising of an outage or shutdown. Does anyone know of a way of doing this through CICS? tia Greg

Specification doc for Purchase Order in MER

Hi Irina, Are you still looking for the specs? You should already have MSAPOP as it comes supplied with MER. Are you looking for a Russian version?

Data in Ellipse in dual languages

You have two sets of table files, English and I presume Russian. You also have the same for your menus and request parameters. The languge used is determined by the language code accessed via MOS813. You can use this code in RDL's to determine the reporting language to use for your literals.

VB Scripts accessing WX- Common buffer

Thanks for the post. A good point about auditing, I'd forgotten about that. We have auditing turned on but as far as I know no-one looks at it. Many thanks.

VB Scripts accessing WX- Common buffer

I should have added that it is not a Connector script. It's a script that interacts with the screens, like the old Mint scripts.
