Check the settings on Photoshop (Image->mode ? what is the color setting RGB/CMYK/Grayscale? what is the channel bit 8-bit or 16-bit...?what is the version and platform? are you working on a background layer..? If you are new to Fireworks *Dreamweaver 4 Fireworks 4 Studio Guide* is ok, however if you are looking for thuroughness; give Macromedia DW & FW 4 training from the source a try..(depends on your book style..lots of text/graphics).....- rainstx
