Run time error

Thanks for the note on the white spaces and your response, much appreciated. Other people do see that message though, and it is driving me crazy. rick

    Run time error

Hi. I've used Dreamweaver to create a directory of resources for people involved in software publishing. The site is www.softwaremarketsolution.com. One some pages you receive Error: Object Expected. The error ostensibly occurs on line 143 of the page. I've checked the templates and the...

    Dreamweaver interface irritating

<<<Hi, There's an easy way to link to a pg within Dreamweaver. Simply select the link in your document and choose Modify-Open Linked Page... Hope that helps some.>>> Hi, Flasher. Nope, tried that. Won't work with an link within a page. rick

    Dreamweaver interface irritating

<<<Your first 3 points were on a personal level, like it dislike it etc. >>> My first three points deal with functionality. EVERY other product in this class I've worked with offers these basic capabilities. Not having them seriously degrades productivity. Having to constantly type in http://...

    Dreamweaver interface irritating

<<<so if you dislike something about the product the best place to take your suggestions is the product developers, not a help forum.>>> It seems completely appropriate to discuss problems or issues about a product on a forum dedicted to discussing the product. <<<the last point. who knows...

    Dreamweaver interface irritating

    1. No http://isn't added by dreamweaver. This is because not all links start with http:// I should be able to specify relative links and DW allows me that flexibility. The ability to overide a default or turn it off would be fine. But the vast majority of links begin with http and having to...

    Dreamweaver interface irritating

I have used most of the mainline tools and have done fairly extensive work in DW. Let me ask you: Are the points I've made valid? Because if so, I think the product fails Interface 101. rick

    Dreamweaver interface irritating

My initial examination of GoLive is that interface is far superior to Dreamweaver. rick

    Dreamweaver interface irritating

This isn't a matter of politics or ideology. If a tool works well, good. If it is awkward or difficult to use, not good. I posted the message to confirm my findings and to find out if I was missing something or if there were easy workarounds. Apparently, there aren't. I must judge the...

    Dreamweaver interface irritating

I'd just to ask some other people if the find the Dreamweaver interface annoying. There are several things I find very crude. When you create a www.XXX.XXX link in a page, you must type in the http:// in the object box. Programs like FP, HotMetal, etc. do this for you. When you are editing...

    Deadly Slow Editing in Dreamweaver

Just to bring everyone up-to-date on this DreamWeaver problem, I do believe this is an internal "problem" with the product. I decided to create a new file with no graphics, button, etc and copied a text block from another page. Very simple, just a bit of HTML. I then copied the...

    Deadly Slow Editing in Dreamweaver

It's not the monitor. Also, I can reproduce this problem on another computer, an HP portable with 190K,8K video memory, and a different video chip set (Savage), so I don't see how this can be a video problem. Also, please note this is DreamWeaver, not UD I'm having this problem with.

    Deadly Slow Editing in Dreamweaver

++They said that there are conflicts with some GeForce cards - and that more often than not a driver update to your vid card will fix this. They suggested trying to change your graphics settings to a basic setting and then reboot and see if it still occurs.++ That means they don't work with the...

    Deadly Slow Editing in Dreamweaver

Well, I have 256K ram installed and editing is not possible in a 150K file, so I wonder what else is going on. And editing this file with Homesite 4.5, HotMetal 6.0, and FrontPage 2002,2000 goes just fine. rick

    Deadly Slow Editing in Dreamweaver

No, I don't mean opening. I mean editing while IN the document. I tried out a 150K DW 4.0 file on another computer just to make sure it wasn't something happening with this particular system. Trying to edit a file is impossible; there is a several second lag when you insert a character into a...

    Deadly Slow Editing in Dreamweaver

I've been working with DreamWeaver and notice that the longer a file becomes the slower editing becomes. On a file hits about 40K or so editing becomes slow. On one about 150K editing becomes almost impossible. Any ideas of what is happening? The pages involved are mostly filled with text...
