I've been considering trying this out too. We currently use ipads that RDP into a virtual machine running windows 10 with simphony installed on it. Some other ideas that could work are Microsoft surfaces.

I'd try using clonezilla instead. Always works perfectly for me when imaging workstations

I had this issue once. Double check EMC and make sure that you have all your required CAL packages being deployed to that specific workstation. Once you've confirmed that, do a clean uninstall and re-cal the workstation.

Any error messages when you click on "details"? I'd ask your staff to tell you what they are doing before the error occurs and keep track of it. Might be a specific proccess or button that was programmed incorrectly.

I think this happens on older version of RES. We have a few locations on 5.7 that have never had this problem, but all of our restaurants on 5.4 behave like this and require you to manually change it to FOH after rebooting.
