Quite a few months ago I was asked to make two extensions act like one (i.e. when phone extension #1 is called it also rings at extension #2 for an individual with two offices - local & remote). With help from the forum, that was accomplished. Now I've been asked to separate the two phones (one...
Just a follow up, since the "Do Not Disturb" got turned on again.
With the assistance of a Shift Manager (no phone experience - just following her instincts and punching buttons) I've discovered that this was not an actual "DND". It was a Posted Message that someone has been turning on...
Thank you gentlemen.
No unused buttons on the MLX5D so I used a spare MLX16D, assigned the DND to a button, and turned it on/off. No more "Do Not Disturb". Still curious, though, as to how it got turned on for a phone that doesn't have a button assigned that feature and why it didn't show in the...
Hello,
I've got an extension, an MLX5D, within our Merlin Legend/Magix system that is displaying "DO NOT DISTURB" (It didn't do this previously). This extension doesn't have any buttons programmed as a "Do Not Disturb". I did an "Inspect" to verify that none of the buttons are programmed with...
Hello WireBoy,
I have the Polycom patched, via an MFM installed on the conference room phone, and have it programmed for outside line access when going off hook. What I'm trying to work out is providing (if it's possible) the ability to do a hook flash/conference button use to establish a 2nd...
I recently got a Polycom SoundStation2 working (with much help from this forum) in our primary conference room on a MLX phone set. It is working great thus far. The new request is to be able to add additional outside lines to a conference call. My understanding is that this can be accomplished...
Excellent! Thanks TTT!
The only confusion/difficulty I encountered was with that final instruction (to get rid of the need to dial 9 to get an outside line when going off hook). It was after several attempts that I noted when entering the **14 it was coming up ****14. Central Programming...
While I've done some searching of the forum topics (as well as AVAYA's website support) I haven't been able to nail down the answer to my current issue.
Here are the details:
We have a Legend/Magix phone system with MLX phones.
Hybrid/PBX mode.
Magix 4.0/Release 7.0
My bosses want a conference...
Hello TouchToneTommy. Yes, that would explain that confusion. The system started out as a Legend upgraded to a Magix. But the documentation is still all for the Legend system. Thanks for that heads up. I'll have to check into available documentation downloads for future reference.
Thank you - that was it! You'd think the AVAYA instructions would tell you to press "Start" and not the non-existent "Exit" button.
Got in, phone re-programmed. Again, thank you teletechman.

I'm trying to access Central Telephone Programming in WINSPM Standard but not having any luck finding the correct menu. Instructions that I've found tell me to select "Sys Program" from the SPM Main Menu, then select "More (PgUP)", which should then display "Cntr-Prg" as a menu option.
However...

Just a follow up to the above noted thread (thought inquiring minds might want to know the outcome).
So, as of today, after a long haul of tech support (Citel-MCK), experimentation, equipment purchases, installation, and configuration our remote site phones are totally...
A couple of months ago I had (with the expertise of the good folks on this forum) added a 3rd carrier to our Merlin Legend/Magix system to allow for additional stations/extensions. All well and good, working great - except for a new wrinkle that was brought to my attention this past week.
When...
Okay. So from what I've gathered so far (from my communications & other online research) here is my understanding of the situation.
If we want to utilize our existing PBX (Legend/Magix) to service phones at our remote office we need to:
-Have a PBX gateway at our Main office.
-Have an Extender...
Thank you all for the guidance/information.
I'm following up on the leads you've provided and will post an update when I've made progress - one way or another.

I'm wondering if it is possible to connect some VoIP phones (we have access to a few to experiment with) through our companies LAN to our existing Merlin Legend/Magix system? I've done some searching on the web as well as this forum but haven't come across info that addresses this situation -...
Just an update to this issue.
In checking the 'Receptionists' notes and my own observations it was discovered that the offending extension (122) had 'Forwarding' enabled. Using the info I found on this site I've 'cancelled' that (i.e. set the extension to forward back to itself) feature...
Just wanted to express my 'great' gratitude, both from myself and my employer, for the very helpful advice and assistance I've received - particularly from 'Touch Tone Tommy' - regarding our Merlin Legend/Magix system.
We've made great strides on the system:
Merlin Messaging password is reset...
Next week (12/29-30) I'll be taking down our Merlin Legend/Magix phone system (w/Merlin Messaging) so that I can physically move the system to allow room for an add-on carrier. So, my first question is:
1) Is there a preferred sequence for powering down/up the cabinets? Maybe it doesn't matter...
