I just wanted to update everyone who helped with my questions.
After many months of a staged server migration, I just did a move yesterday (11/1/14) of MAS 90 for Windows 3.71 from an SBS 2003 server to Server 2012 R2 Standard.
We had a MAS 90 support company look at it, and...
Wow, what a coincidence. After many months of a staged server migration, I just did a move yesterday (11/1/14) of MAS 90 for Windows 3.71 from an SBS 2003 server to Server 2012 R2 Standard. This procedure only works with MAS 90 for Windows 3.71 and maybe prior versions, but apparently nothing...
LouieGrandie,
"I seriously doubt if it will run on a modern 64-bit server." Is there anything that actually RUNS on the server? I thought this old version just needed a place for its files to reside and to be accessed by the workstations.
I remember the old days of moving MAS 90 from Novell...
I am going to have them contact Blytheco to ask if their enhancements will affect the move to a new server. I know that they use custom Crystal Reports done by Blytheco, but I think that enhancements are something else. As I mentioned before, I only support the network and not MAS 90, except for...
dfeller,
They do not have a regular support contract with Blytheco. Blytheco is the company who installed their MAS 90 many years ago, and they call them once in blue Moon and get one-off support even without a contract.

SWEET!!!
As I was typing up notes to send to Blytheco, a thought popped into my noggin...turn off UAC on the workstation, re-run wksetup, reinstall CR. It works fine now.

Hello!
I just installed the workstation setup on Win 7 Pro 64-bit system for a client's ancient MAS 90 for Windows 3.71 which resides on their server.
Everything appears to be fine except when trying to print a Crystal Report, at which time we get this error:
Error 12, Program: SWCOCX...
Unfortunately, there is no Windows Server version past 2008 that is 32-bit. Server 2008 R2 and newer are 64-bit only. It's time to have them ask Blytheco for upgrade pricing.
I had them send an Installed Applications list and it shows Blytheco enhancements, so I don't know if that would effect...
Ten years old, but still does everything they need. If it can be moved to Server 2012, that will give them a few more years.
They know that they need to upgrade, but the budget is not there. I **finally** convinced them that their EIGHT year old server MUST BE replaced this year. I have another...
Hello!
Via other posts here and what I suspected from my brief stint working at a MAS 90 reseller 13 years ago, I have found that I can move MAS 90 for Windows 3.71 to a new server by just copying the whole \MAS90 folder and its contents, and then re-running the workstation setup on each...
Hello!
I have a client using MAS 90 for Windows 3.70 on server 2003. We recently replaced a few users' 17"-19" LCD monitors with wide-screen monitors that have native resolutions of 1920 x 1080. We got the "Unable to initialize viewer" when opening documents. I Googled and found advice to drop...
