OK, here is my question....is there code I can use that allows me to type text up to 3 lines versus limiting how much I type on 3 lines by character count.

A Third party software program called 'ClickYes' allows you to turn off that feature:

From what I have found, this feature is able to be turned off in Outlook Express, but not Outlook XP nor 2003.

This can only be done if you have Outlook XP (2002) or Outlook 2003 b/c these 2 versions store distribution list in contacts (taking away the need for a .pab file)

If you want to have Acc 97 but Office XP (Excel, PPT, Outlook & Word), you need to install Acc 97 first and then Office XP. This is the 'proper microsoft' way to avoid any problems.
With all MS installs, you always need to install lower (older)version 1st, then newer version.
