Thats great thanks for your reply appnair. I will ask about their WCM offering, we touched on their WCM a while ago but I wont be leading on that, thats why it wasnt pursued any more at the time but will be worth a look definitely.
Thanks again.
Hi appnair,
Many thanks for your reply, its given me some ideas to be thinking about. The choice of whether cetain data should be always stored in livelink or not seems to be the main point now depending on what the business requirements are. Data linked onto a webserver in the DMZ sounds a...
Hi All,
I am looking for some pointers please on externalizing, sharing data that is currently held in livelink.
Bodies to share data with are internal users (outside of livelink access), controlled external bodies and public access for all.
Is there anything that fits this purpose at all or...

Hi guys,
Struggling with getting WebDAV working over SSL in Content Server 10.
WebDAV is set in the web edit administation settings as a higher priority than activeX but we always get a certificate error when trying to edit / open documents. The certificate is installed and issued internally...
Hi Greg,
Thank you for your response. This is something we might have to do but we would like to see if there are any 'non cost' options first. i.e. a simple URL query might suffice in pulling the data from Livelink into the DMZ server (logged in as an authorised user) or other ways of...
Hi,
We are looking at managing our current intranet/internet content and associated documents in Livelink to enable better control. Is this something that we can achieve and in addition, regularly publish the content to a webserver in the DMZ which is public facing?
Is this possible?
Thanks for you input here , this will definitely give us something to go on and will contact OT if we think there is a problem then. Will try again soon but hopefully wont have many more large moves to do.
Thanks again,
appscript
appnair,
Thanks for your reply - Yes I understand what you are saying but this is just moving a folder structure from one area of livelink to another & nothing more. This usually works seamlessly but in this example we are doing things in bulk.
We have a seperate LES server for processing of...
Hi,
Livelink 9.7.1
What is the best method of moving folders which contain other folders / document in bulk when there is a lot of data involved.
From experience, moving using the interface grinds the system to a halt & the database has to be cleared.
Is this this still the best way of...
Thanks for the reply Greg. We want to get away from Exp Pro so if we were 'forced' to update the Windows XP client then we would jump to EC 10.2 - looks like more work anyway!
Has anyone had any experience using CS10 and Livelink Explorer Pro 4.8.6 combo on Windows XP machines ?
I know in the release notes of Explorer Pro 4.8.6 that it only mentions CS 9.7.1 so does it not work at all on CS10 therefore forcing a client upgrade to either Exp Pro 10 or Enterprise...
Have you tried restarting the web client service on the machine ? - this fixed it for us and was a one time only needed fix on some Windows XP clients.
Dont know exatly why it fixed it but it did.
Thanks all for your input here.
From our experience, EC10 performs a lot better than Explorer Professional 4.8.6 in regarding wait times when the clients connect in to save etc.
This is the bad experience that the users (clients connecting in) are going to see when we go over around 500 items...
Hi Greg,
We are on 9.7.1 so are fine as the pagination works with Internet Explorer. The problem is with the Livelink clients connecting into heavily populated areas using Explorer Pro 4.8.6 & EC10.
Would the solution be stick to say a 500 limit (not sure if you could enforce this though) and...
Hi,
Does anyone have any experience of the recommended amount of objects that can be stored in one Livelink folder.
For example, for us:
50-100 word docs = no problems.
500 docs = slower performance but about acceptable.
1000 docs = bordering unusable.
The IE view is always...
Great advice, problem fixed - thanks very much :) Really was running out of ideas on this one.
Changing this setting didnt need a LL service restart either and its one of those global settings that only needs making on one server. All of the LES servers show that this change has been made now...
Dear TTips,
I'm trying to fix a problem we have where we cannot print off emails which have been added to Livelink from within Outlook, i.e. the email has been dragged into Livelink using the Livelink plugin pane view on the left hand side of the Outlook screen.
After the email is added to...
