I got Win2k3 AD setup and working just fine in our testbed with Bind DNS on Fedora core 1. I copied the zone files and conf file to our production DNS and fired up our new win2k3 AD server. But it's not working and it's driving me crazy. I'm not even showing anything in the DNS logs to show...

multi domain and exchange server setup

We want to consolidate into one forest. Starting to look like we need to rebuild the remote AD first. Would that be your recommendation?

multi domain and exchange server setup

Looks like Forest replication requires MIIS 2003 which is a $25K product. Don't think I can go with that. ;) Is that the only way?

    Winbind user weirdness

I am the sysadmin and the users do exist on the NT domain. They also do list out when you do a getent passwd. But for whatever reason, Linux does not seem to want to recognize those 2 users.

    Outlook freak out problem - NT4 domain,Exchange

Although, I see where this would work, I need to find out what the root cause is. Some of the users in a workgroup are actually remote, without access to resources within our firewall. The firewall is not the cause however because it breaks inside the firewall as well (even on the same subnet)

I just deleted the wins database on my PDC, started up the new BDC, configured WINS replication, and tried it and the machine in a workgroup still didn't work. I had to back out. What was strange was that outlook on the workgroup machine did not work until I rebooted both the pdc and the...
