Ok... I've discovered that both (fiber) NAMs work fine with another MICS that I have setup on the wall in my garage; so it is a conflict of some kind.
Client Norstar PBX is Rel 01 - XC 5.0 Transfer to Voice Mail Redirects back to CCR Tree.
Capabilities: CFNA to Voice Mail 4 Rings. Transfer...
An analog line off of a Norstar is bridged with another 1000 feet of cable that goes nowhere. Although there is no resistive load, I'm assuming that the capacitance of the line has increased considerably. Over time would this cause a problem?
Thanks!
Who to call for a patch (Phoenix, AZ.) or to open more channels; it's only got two channels open now. Any ideas as to why it's doing what it's doing? What part needs to be patched?
Thanks for writing!
Morstar MICS with a fiber NAM. Recorded the greetings, built and saved Tree 1, Answer Lines yes 4 rings, voicemail set to 6 rings, transfer callback set to 6 rings.
Calls transferred to an extension ring 6 times and then roll to the AA/CCR Tree not their Voicemail.
I didn't try making the...
The ATA is good news as the Sales and Accounting office is outside the earshot of the PA system and I need something in that office that will ring when the 4 outside line ring. I could do a "Pickup" but the boss wants all the lines to appear at every phone.
So I'll program the ATA for the 4...
Old release MICS, PBX, DID template set to PBX, client wants all lines to "Appear and Ring" at all the sets.
No can do with this release if he wants Voice Mail.
Theory...
Bogen TPU hooked to Aux Ringer. All outside lines ring over paging system.
All sets programmed for "Appear Only". Some...
Just found out my friend has an old IBM laptop with Windows 98 and a Seriel port. Sort of like that preemptive announcement... it kinda puts the snotty people in their place. LOL
Thanks all!
I believe "1" is to change your name in the company directory; at least that's what Joan Kenley PhD. says.
Never had to change a COS in a NAM before.
Thanks for writing!
Got a client (Lawyer) who wants to record telephone calls with clients here in Phoenix. To avoid problems, Nortel has disabled the "Call Record" function in every class of service. Just need to know what the easiest way is to change the COS on a NAM.
I've got the 4.0 Documentation, but it...
Thanks all for your suggestions. There is no PRI, just 4 loop start trunks and I didn't want to tie up two for an outdial transfer. Several mailboxes have been programmed with this feature; should two be invoked all the trunks would be busy.
I will try and add the command "Wait for Dial Tone"...
Greetings Everyone!
CallPilot programmed for (press 7) outdial. # equals hookflash, but where is the hang-up code. I tried entering a star (feature) plus 89, but that doesn't work.
The # initiates the Hookflash Transfer. If I add another # that just makes it a conference call. I need a hang-up...
You know... this is the first machine that has ever had the dialing plan prompt. I found it... it is in routing. Later releases it is under System Programming. It asks for a prefix (ie:602) and the DN length after.
All is well now!
Thanks for your input guys!!!!
Telephones installed on a Norstar system only use one B Channel. I've heard rumors that there is an adapter that will allow you to use two telephones on a single pair; one telephone is on one B Channel and the second telephone is on the other B Channel... or an ATA could be plugged in to use the...
I don't know what it is at present... I've never fiddled with it, but i will take a look.
I just did a reset prior to loading the PRI Enabler Codes, so everything should be defaulted.
After contacting Cox today, I found out that I can dial local calls within the 480 area code (that I'm in) but...
Thanks guys for responding.
It's been about 15 years since i programmed my last PRI.
I believe I have the "Absorb" set to 1 just to remove the 9 from the dialing string.
The DN length is set to 4, but i thought that was for the extensions only. The receive length is 4 also for inbound calls...
Norstar MICS... Reset... Loaded PRI Enabler... Route 1 PRI-A... Destination Code 9.
Why would I have to dial a 1 + an Area Code for local calls?
Pretty straight forward.
Called Cox and they said everything on their end is ok.
Stumped.
