Thank crobin1 - That workded great for users!
Quesetion - is there a way to search for users recently added to a group? I just discovered that the users modified date do not change just by adding them to a group, you have to actaully change something on their acct.
I was actaully trying to...
Hello, I'm trying to learn powershell -
I am trying to pull a list of users who were last modifed in the last few days which belong to a specific group and only users that reside in a specific OU.
I can pull the users in the OU and belong to the group but HOW can I do it based on 'object...
im 2 exams away from mcsa on 2003 but had trouble with 70-291 so instead of wasting time I'm going to move forward on 2008 for enterprise admin from scatch. Reason beging is because more companies are going 2008 then I thought. Also 2008 has lots of new features and is very different from 2003.
Hello all,
Does anyone know of a good change control package that can be used in MOSS?
I know it has workflow but we are looking for an actaul database that has forms living there to be used as change control.
Thanks.
hmmm, *scatching head, okay thanks for the input. I guess it was my understanding that the only stuff in the LIZ should be url type stuff or things without dots...and if there were anything with dots then they would be treated as if they were in the internet zone.
Maybe that was for older...
Hello all,
We currently have an entry in our Local Intranet Zone as follows: *.corp.net
My question is does this really need to be in the Local Intranet Zone?
From what I understand sites in this zone should not have any dots. If they have dots then they are read as "internet sites" and...
question: I am working on the best way to streamline our GPOs. By streamlining I mean taking a GPO and removing settings that are not necessary within it. I was actually thinking about creating a custom ADM template for system.adm because we're only using about 10 setting in this template and...
is there a policy and if so does anyone know where it is located? This use to work but not anymore...

Thanks everyone for your input - I guess its time for me to hit the books then! I'm going to stick it out with 2003! I have the 291 and the 270 left to go. Thinking about studying for 270 (since its easier) then tackling the 291.
Hello, looks like the first post of the 09 in this forum, hhaha.
I need advise. I have been looking to get my MCSA and need to take the 291 and 270 in order to complete the cert. I've taken 291 twice and haven't passed it!!!
I found the MCSA 2003 would even be offered after about another 1yr...
Sounds like you have it almost done. I would leave it the way you have it but go to the OU you've created and assign delegation for the OU. Do customized delegation and you will have the opportunity to restrict them from creating Groups.
Good luck.
I suppose a script would be best to clean up the used profiles taking up valuable space on the individual HDDs.
I would use a Group Policy "Folder Redirection" to keep it transparent to the user when they go to save documents to say, "My Documents" folder.
Zelandakh is right about the clearing...
Thanks Tsuji! I'm very new to scripting so this is nothing like I thought.
how would I set this up to run each time I login to a server? I know for logon scripts their placed in GPO but what about this one?
Thanks.
hello all,
I am tring to figure out the best way to dynamically map drives to my machine based on which remote server I'm connected to.
Example:
*I'm at my desk. I would like to create a logon script to automatically create a mapped drive "Y:" for me to the local servers shared folder...
When you noticed the drives had been disconnected did you happen to notice whether the correct ID was logged into the server? Perhaps someone logged out and back in with a different ID at some point for some reason? This would cause the drive to loose their mappings if the server is now all of...
