Hello,

I can't seem to find the answer to this in google so I thought I'd try the experts on Tek Tips!

I know InetOrgPerson is the closest thing to a user object in LDAP/AD but when is it appropriate to use InetOrgPerson?

Thank you!

Typically if you were going to have AD co existing with other LDAP directories such as e-directory, sun one or openldap.

It is basically an object with defined attributes that all directories will agree upon, the MS user object has attributes that, for example, e-directory won't have or vice versa. But should you use inetorgperson the attributes will be the same across all the directories.

If there are no stupid questions, then what kind of questions do stupid people ask? Do they get smart just in time to ask questions?
