I also recently installed a MSSQL database on here which I've heard can cause similar problems. There was also a entry in the list that began with MSSQL which I removed but it didn't seem to help.
This is what I have listed:
HOST/servername
HOST/servername.ad.domain.com
HOST/servername.ad.domain.com/ad.domain.com
HOST/servername.ad.domain.com/domain
Should I keep all of those? Or remove one? I also have others that begin with LDAP, DNS, exchange, etc.
I built a new Windows 2008 server (domain controller) a couple of weeks ago and everything seemed to go okay. Today I went to reboot it and when I try and login I get this error:
"The security database on the server does not have a computer account for this workstation"
Since it's a DC I...
I've come up with one problem after doing this.
It appears that I can still ping the server using it's old name. Now both the old and new name ping to the same IP. Where can I get rid of the old hostname? I've looked in DNS.. should I also look in the WINs settings?
I need a little guidance...
I currently have a Windows 2003 DC (that also handles DHCP/DNS/WINS/Print) that I want to replace with a new Windows 2008 server.
I've found instructions on how to migrate all of the services over to the new server. The new server will have a new name but I'd like...
I've been trying to use an old Promise Ultra66 card in my Windows 2003 server but so far haven't been able to find any drivers that will work.
I've tried the ones from the Promise website and several other sources. Has anyone else gotten this card to work? Thanks.
I got the slot set for cleaning and was able to clean the drive successfully.
Unfortunately I'm still having the 'Full tape' issue. Any other suggestions?
It thinks that my cleaning tape is in slot 16 but we only have 8 slots. So I went to change it to slot 8 and it told me that it can't use it because it's in the 'available slots' range.
Where do I exclude slot 8 from the available slots? Can I do that from the GUI?
I tried loading the cleaning tape but I'm still having the same issues.
I did check the media log in the nsr folder and I'm seeing this message:
"NetWorker cleaning cartridge required: (notice) Jukebox `QUANTUM@4.5.1' Unable to find a cleaning slot in jukebox `QUANTUM@4.5.1' for device...
Yeah, I thought about using a login script to delete extend.dat. Again though, that's a messy process and I think there should be some way of avoiding it. But that doesn't look to be the case.
We don't use SMS but we have Altiris. So there might be a way to push it out with that and delete...
