Have you installed and licensed the product. That gave me quite a time like you are describing. Also look in devices and make sure it still sees the device and the controller. This too could be a problem. If nothing is working make sure the device is supported with that build.
Which OEM version of Veritas? Is it the Desktop or Server and Which VER#. Depending on which one, I can tell you how to format your tapes with new header files. Let me know.
Well we have decided to use a Standard QIC-157. Most software companies are writing gate keys for us. It took some time to get them to do it, but they are finally. Thankyou anyway.,
I am currently testing a new product for tape backup. The company I work for has several tape backup products that work on SCO, but we are not listed on their compatibility yet. As for IDE, I have to agree about not going that route. SCSI is much better and SCO is a very stable platform when...
I am currently working on several backup applications and several platforms. NT, Novell 5, Unix(SCO, OPEN server) Solaris 7, Linux 5.2. We are testing various backup software with various platforms. Now for the hard part, What kind of drive are you backing up to, What is the Backup server and...
We are trying the ns20 drivers and we know this should not work, but we are a compatibility lab so we try. Next will be the 7.3 veritas. Hopefully that will open some doors. Our device is new to the market and will be available next year. We are just trying to find strings that match it.
Do you have any data loss? How many tapes has this happened to? I am having a meeting with Seagate Engineers so If I could get a profile of the system and your backup set and what you have the backup commands set to I may be able to get a definitive answer for you. Seagate is one of our...
Check the bios time and date settings then check the date settings on NT. Also is it doing a full backup or just append and what hardware are you using for this backup session.
Give some more specifics on your hardware and Platform. I may have the answer if I know what you have. Is it on a card or is it software controlled, and what company is it? Things like that basically a system profile.
Seagates ability to do library backups seem ok, however you have to purchase the library option. This is a additional expense if I remember correctly. I am testing the Seagate library option in Parallel streaming for my tape devices and so far so good. I haven't done any retension or erasing...
I work with Seagate on a daily basis and it does not allow tape spanning. Sounds like it is reaching EOT and not updating the directory. When you put in a new tape it must be posting the directory their. I haven't seen your problem, but it is one that I will keep a eye out for. Thankyou for...

I am looking for a generic Scsi command line that will work with most SCSI tape drive backups. I am new to Novell and am currently testing OnStream's Drive. I work for them so any comments would be greatly helpful. Thankyou.<br>
