    Clients Ignoring GPO (password complexity/length)

Found it. Block Inheritance was turned on on the domain controller OU for some reason. Even though clients showed the right policy, the DCs weren't getting the policy, and therefore not enforcing it, because it was blocked to them.

    Clients Ignoring GPO (password complexity/length)

You mean with a gpupdate /force? If so, I did try that but it didn't change anything. I can't find anything on either the DC's or the clients that shows why this shouldn't be working properly.

    Clients Ignoring GPO (password complexity/length)

Yes. I know. That is where I'm setting it, and it appears to be working according to RSOP when it is run on one of the clients as it shows the complexity and length (8 characters) are enabled. Even though the resultant policy shows that though, I can still set a 3 character all lowercase...

    Clients Ignoring GPO (password complexity/length)

I am trying to implement the complex password policy and character length for passwords, but my clients are ignoring them and I can't for the life of me figure out why. RSOP returns all the proper results on a client. It shows the proper GPO settings, yet a user can set a password as stupid as...

    Network connections property sheets disabled

I still need help, but have narrowed it down I think. I did a registry compare of before and after having the properties sheet open. When the network properties sheet is open there is a key called HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Network\NetCfgLockHolder created (and it has the value...

    NEW AD Permission Problem

One way that works pretty good is to use Intellemirror and Group Policies to create a repository of authorized applications that can be installed from the list in add/remove programs. Using this method the users don't need administrative rights on the local machine to install the supplied...

Application needs Admin rights to run?!

The other thing that helps some applications is if the user is given elevated permissions on just the folder where the offending application is installed. We use PDF995 for printing to PDF, and if the user does not have full control of that folder, it will not work. Using this type of solution...

    Network connections property sheets disabled

I recently broke a team on a multihomed Windows 2003 server using HP's Network Teaming and Configuration Utility 7. Ever since I cannot modify any network properties because the sheets are all locked saying "Some of the controls on this property sheet are disabled because one or more other...

    Event ID 2!?

In backing up a client's Exchange server, running Windows 2000 Server, Exchange 2000, ArcServe 2000, and ArcServe 2000 Backup for Exchange, we're getting failures every time ARCserve tries to backup the public folders. In addition, at the same time the event log is filled with multiple errors...
