I was able to track down a 32bit R2 version from another company that I work with. Once I ran that version of adprep, everything worked like it should have. Thanks for the help.
Yes I did. My current DC is a Server 2000 SP4. I get the same error about not being a valid win32 application.
Does my problem have anything to do with my domain operation mode being set to "mixed"?
Thanks for the responses... What my intensions are is installing a new Server 2003 R2 to the domain and have our current 2000 server replicate the AD and in time get rid of the 2000 server.
Isn't the R2 version of Server 2003 a 64 bit application and will the adprep form that cd work on a 2000...
I've been reading for sometime now about adding a 2003 Server R2 DC to an existing 2000 DC. Do I need to run the 2003 Disk 2 adprep on the 2000 server or on the 2003 server? If I try running it on the 2003 server I get something like "cannot run on this platform because it's not a domain...
Does anyone know of a way to tracert port 1723 of a public IP address?
We use a Linksys BEFVP41 as our main router and forward port 1723 to our remote access server. Users were able to VPN into the network with no problems. Just recently we installed a Cisco 1720 for a point-to-point T1 with...
Is there a way to prevent employees from listening to online radio broadcasts?
It's getting to be too common for everyone in the office to listen to the radio online, which is consuming all our bandwidth. We have tried explaining the problem to them and it works for a week. After that they...
RouterKid, is best to have one BEFVP41 router at each location and set it up router-to-router, or can you set it up with only one? I have a BEFSR41 router at each location now, but I'm thinking I need more than one connection at a time. Or do you know of a way to setup the routers I have now...
If I would purchase the XP Pro upgrade version, would I be able to perform a fresh install in case of problems down the road.
For example: If my pc crashes after having upgraded from 2000 to XP, will I have to install 2000 prior to XP again?
Thanks.
I'm working on setting up one of our Win2k server to act as a RASS. I'm able to connect fine, but the clients can only access the internet and none of the network shares. After looking at ipconfig on the server, I see that the PPP adapter has a different subnet mask than the network adapter...
I'm having a similar problem. Only I'm not sure what you mean by references. When I try to open access, I get the compile error, and Microsoft Visual Basic editor opens up. This is the only pc out of 12 that is having this problem. Can someone explain further on what I need to do to fix this...
Is there anyway you can set it up where a user could not use any of the adminstrative tools when logging on to the terminal server? I've looked in all the security policy editors, but I haven't seen anything that might work. any ideas?
I can connect to the server and recieve an IP address. The only password that it asks for it the one before it connects to the server. I just can't see anything in network neighborhood. When I click on "entire network" I recieve an error saying that I can't browse the network.
Why is it that a Windows 2000 client can connect to our Win2000 VPN Server, but a Windows 98 client cannot? Is there something that needs to be done with the 98 client to help it authenticate? Anyone ever run into this before?
OK, I fixed the previous problem. Now my problem is I can connect, but I cannot access anything on the other side. I can ping everything on the other side. I think I have the permissions setup right. Do I have to setup DNS on the VPN server? I do have WINS setup on that server.
Also, on...
When you connect to a VPN, does your NIC become inactive to everything else? I tried to connect to the VPN with a seperate computer, and when connecting through a dial-up account, it connects fine and all my drives are mapped. But when I try to connect through DSL, it looks like it connects...
I setup VPN (through a Linksys router) on a 2000 server, and I'm able to connect to it through a Win98 pc. But when I connect, the pc slows up dramatically and it is no longer able to connect to its local server. Could this be because it's two different domains? Is it even possible to connect...
