This weekend is the end of 7 digit dialing in the US.

Reading the FCC notification, this only effects the locations with 988 in the local exchange. I would think, however, that at some point we're all going to have to transition to 10/11 digit dialing.

    AVAYA CORE vs POWER

I believe you also get extra features in Avaya Aura Messaging (AAM). Like dial by name, web access, etc.

Workplace shows Cover Group Name instead of the CallerID

Okay, so I've been banging my head against the wall for a few days now. In Workplace (IOS and Vantage), when a caller calls, the Cover Group Name displace instead of (or in addition to) the CallerID. In the log, however, it displays the CallerID after the call has been presented. So if you...

Incoming SIP call without a provider

I've been looking around at SBCs. I thought I read somewhere that Avaya was coming out with an Aura SBC for IPO. I've even looked at open source. Any suggestions?

Incoming SIP call without a provider

With that being said. I do intend on implementing a session border controller at some point. Just as an FYI. I guess you do need an IP address then in the trunk config.

Incoming SIP call without a provider

Okay... Having had a chance to read this, perhaps I wasn't in my usual fine literary mood when I typed this. I think I can clarify. I want an ITSP to be able to dial a SIP URI on my switch "directly" without the need of passing through another ITSP. Like dialing 100@domain.com or...

Incoming SIP call without a provider

Interesting question. Is there a way to setup the IPO so that you do not require an ITSP for incoming? Let's say for instance that I purchased a line from someone (analog for reference) of 14135551212. Can I allow any SIP provider (that is not a sip provider currently) to call the number at...

    Block CLID on Internal Calls

Okay... Before everyone jumps all over me about asking this question that has been asked in the past, I want to say this is not an HR issue. You can't say "fire the person who gives out the number"! That simply isn't going to happen. There are circumstances where we need to block the CLID on...

    OneX for IPhone

Well, that's certainly good news. Hoping it hits the support site relatively soon. I don't want to have to pay for windows and av. Take care, Drew

    OneX for IPhone

I think, like most people, I was trying to avoid a windows license and anti-virus by going with the App Server. I am a bit disappointed though. It doesn't seem to work very well. I still can't see the message times or play them on the iPhone. However, if I get a new message and press play...

    OneX for IPhone

No. It says that it's not configure and I must listen through the phone. Odd....

    OneX for IPhone

Okay, I un-ticked the UMS and magically my messages showed up. However, I can't play them. Hmmmmm. When I hit Play, nothing happens. Also, there is no time estimates on the VMs. Drew

    OneX for IPhone

I'm running the Linux based Admin/One-X/VM. Is there a web VM for the Admin Server? And, yes, twinning is checked off. Interestingly enough, I noticed that my user has UMS checked off. Perhaps an un-tick? Drew

    OneX for IPhone

I downloaded and installed it yesterday. Interesting though. I leave myself a voicemail and nothing shows up. I can't see the list of VM's nor can I listen to any new ones. Anyone else having that issue? Drew

    IPO 8 and DSCI

I did review that. However, it's a little out of date. Still not working. When watching monitor, it appears that it times out registering. However, you can see the packets coming and going. Drew

    IPO 8 and DSCI

Yep. DSCI is a SIP provider. The use Broadsoft. I guess a better question would be is: Did anyone get broadsoft to work with IPO? Drew

    IPO 8 and DSCI

Has anyone been able to get DSCI working with the IPO? This is over the internet as opposed to a proprietary link. I just can't seem to get it to register. It is my understanding that the underlying infrastructure is built on Broadsoft. When I go into monitor, there is no attempt at...

    Backup SIP trunks

@AndrePa, I'm dumping CallCentric. Great sound but they don't conform to SIP protocols properly. I think it has something to do with the CallerID. Be careful of DIDWW. They work great and are super reliable for SIP DID. However, they don't conform to the RFC as they start the RTP ports at...

VM hangup before finishing outgoing announcement on outside calls only

Okay, so I am certainly not an Asterisk guru by any stretch of the imagination. I have a client that uses it however and they are experiencing a strange problem. An incoming caller will select an option that forwards to a particular extension, the phone rings and then is goes to VM. The VM...
