I've had no experience with ArcServe, but I can tell you that Veritas'(BackupExec) tech support can be sketchy at best. Just look at the number of posts to this board!!! If the support were any good , this board may not even exist. What don't you like about ArcServe, besides dismal support?

You'll have to review the job logs to find out why the job has failed. Some of the errors can be pretty cryptic.

Is this a scheduled job? The jodb file may have been corrupted. You may want to try deleting and recreating the entire job.

I've had the same problem occur during backups. I'm not 100% positive, but I think it has to do with the SCSI bus timing out...

You've got to make sure the user has root access, also, the set bindery context line of the autoexec.ncf on the netware box the context in which the backup user account lives must be listed first.
