    Hex dump

    sometimes you can get product info from a hex dump. like bios strings and video mfg. Also, Memory can be dumped as Hex strings. I believe the hex is an address or unique identifier. That's my gest!

    I know the programs you mentioned. This was a system utility that would allow access to the video, pci, ram, addresses, com1, com2. like Bios but it was a microsoft program. I wish i could remember it. I'll keep searching I'll post if i find it. Thanks
